Most of the others Gingernuts aside have big queries on their class.

The favourite was flogged 8 lengths from 2nd last start.

Gailo chop 2.03.93 for 2040m 12.52
Folkswood 2.03.68 for 2040m 12.58
Cliff's edge 2.04.77 for 2040m 12.03

That was 45 mins later on the same track on the same day after both racing on speed.

Cliff's edge ran home his last 200m faster but was entitled to after leading and walking.

Just for interest

Winx 2.02.94 11.89
Aloisia 2.04.24 11.81

would like to know last 100m compared to others, maybe someone smarter than me can see ?
Hard to get sectionals outside melbourne

What i can tell you.

There were 3 races that day over 1400m

Maiden - 1.24.10 last 600 35.41
Class 3 - 1.24.15 last 600 34.84
Open - 1.22.67 last 600 35.59

So it missed the kick in the class 3 and made up many lengths in the last 200m. They did run the fastest last 600m split of the 3 but were the slowest overall.

Without the last 200m split or individual sectionals its hard to tell really.

He has had 5 metro starts for no placings and Doomben has a much shorter straight than the sunshine coast.

Happy Clapper and It's Somewhat haven't won in Melbourne before so i can't have them
Exceed and Excel has never produced a group 1 winner over 2000m before in his 600 year career so i can't have Folkswood at those odds
So Si Bon is a non winner so i can't have him
The Taj Mahal is a non winner so i can't have him
Sense of Occasion,Harlem,Odeon and Samovare are not good enough imo
Tosen Stardom is a inconsistent headcase so i can't have him
Gingernuts seems under the odds to me as his autumn form looks pure aids now(Inference,So So Bon,Jon Snow),i'll admit he's a pretty consistent horse though.

Gailo Chop and Cliff's Edge are the only ones i could have at this stage with Gingernuts being the best from the above lot.

Sense of occassion has good enough WFA form to win a race like this imo.

Might prefer wet tracks though

True dat,i think Sense of Occasion is like Happy Clapper and It's Somewhat though in that he hasn't won in Melbourne/anti clockwise direction before.

I may be harsh on those 3 though as i believe they have all only ever had 3 starts each anti clockwise before, may not be a big enough sample,i'll take my chances and dismiss them though based on that stat as they have never really gotten close in any of there anti clockwise runs.

I’m going to give Tosen Starplod another go here at decent enough odds, went like a pumpkin last week but the race wasn’t really run to suit.

More speed here, good barrier.. even race so he will be my ticket

Also throwing Taj Mahal into my quaddie, those sneaky Irish merkins keep saying he is a good horse and his overseas form is solid enough for this race

Has the same trainer always had it?
na trainer has 1 trial and 1 race. cant figure why it has gone up 2kg and racing in town. thing that beat it paying $11 and they say has chance, I got it at $50 and they say no hope. anyway will need a big saddle with the jock and me 6 mates on it

In the race before first stimulus, crack me up looks a very smart horse. Notice they opted for browne instead of a claim.

Class can overcome a big weight and 20/1 is ridiculous.
