I'd be surprised if Turner and Clark break into the prop rotation next year. It's still inconclusive where Sam is going to play. Nicholls actually isn't that experienced. He hasn't played that many NRL games. Tom and George still haven't come of age as NRL props yet. I think in terms of NRL games we needed another experienced prop. That's why I was so keen on getting James Graham. I think it was a massive mistake from the club not pursuing him harder. The dragons will be a force to be reckoned with next year.
All fair points but I still don't think they're necessarily young. Middle of the road.

If Crichton is worth $850k based on potential now, then what is his next contract worth when he has multiple seasons and possible rep honours under his belt?

Crichton's biggest test will be living up to the high standard he set in 2017.

Second year syndrome has a habit of sorting sportsmen out & giving them a taste of reality!!

This contract would cover his growth as a player for the next few years.

Given how drastically he improved this year, the Angus of 2020/2021 could easily be worth $800k +.

I'm okay with paying him overs for a year or two to make sure we don't lose him.

He was in our top 3 (if not higher) players this season and he's only going to get better.

He's the man to build our forward pack around for potentially the next ten years

Stop pissing in his pocket so much so many more objective people, with better judgement, will not have to sound like we dislike him to simply be objective!as for your quote that he is already better than wade graham, please put imo after it as many on here, plus the nsw and australian selectors disagree.wade graham dominated and intimidated gus when we played them this year.the only running metres gus made that night was across field off his right foot destroying the teams attacking shape!wade hits harder, has a far superior passing game, his total skill set is one of the highest in the nrl.plus, most importantly,he is one tough hombre.gus and indeed fui could vastly improve in the near future,by learning from his game
Wade Graham is so overrated......... he's very good but not great....,

He doesn't stand up enough in big games....

The Sharks had much more time with the ball in that game as they are quicker than us and our line speed is non existent...

Angus did very well with 12 for 104m, 3 offloads and 12 tackle breaks with a quick swarming Sharks defensive line...

I think Angus had a better year than Wade actually.....

A big problem with Wade Graham is his ilidsicpline imo..... gives too many penalties away...

Did you know Cookie won the Clubman of the year award and I'm pretty sure he mentioned Cody, Clarky and Angus as both being very good in the community and how they go above and beyond.......

The thing is though that while it may cover his growth for this contract, when negotiations for his next deal come around he isn't going to sign for the same money because this contract was priced on potential, he is going to want a raise and most likely a significant one.

Has any club offered $850k Trav???

That's the number that a lot of posters are throwing about as what they would pay for him.

By the time Gus is Wade's age he will be better than Wade, possibly the best second rower in the comp.

However, you can't say Crichton is better at this stage.

I friggin love Crichton as a player but we have to be careful with the amount we're going to pay him.

Yep might be worth it....

Luke Page for PNG is the Burleigh Bears captain apparently. He may be worth a look for some more depth......

He goes allright...
Bro did you read my mind? I was going to post the exact same thing! No joke.

I've loved what Page has done this World Cup. He has huge potential, reminds me of Nathan Brown.
