First reviews are coming out now... apparently its f**king AWESOME!!

I haven’t dared read one yet though... no way I’m risking spoiling it...

I’m watching it on Friday.... taking my 6yr old boy who’s a Star Wars fanatic... but I’m incredibly tempted to go watch it tonight... :joy::joy:

But I’m gonna do the right thing and wait until Friday and watch it with my little guy...

Although it’s getting harder and harder to resist the pull of the dark side...:joy::joy:

Right on the release of TLJ it sounds like Disney are going to announce the 20th Century Fox acquisition on Friday(Thursday in the US).

Which of course means that Lucasfilm will finally get the rights for A New Hope back from Fox.

Spoiler free review by IGN on YouTube.

In summary - easily the best Star Wars film since ESB - 9.7 out of 10.

Pumped.

Okay... wtf did I just watch? I'm feeling a tad underwhelmed. Going to need one or 2 more viewings.

How f**king pointless is Phasma? An absolute do nothing character. Quite possibly the worst in the Star Wars universe.

Jar Jar Binks offered more.

Saw a lot of people hating on the whole Finn/Rose part but I don’t see what was so bad about it.

Holo Luke was f**king awesome, as was Rey and Kylo’s team up. Snoke not sensing Kylo about to kill him was a bit of a let down though, for someone who seemed so strong with the force in his screen time here he went down way too easy.

Hopefully they weren’t pulling a fast one on Rey’s parents and she actually isn’t tied into this through anything other than just right place and time. I think that’s a much more interesting path than her just happening to be related to someone big, be it Luke or whoever.

Phasma was wasted yet again, and thankfully it looks like the last we will see of her.

Holdo's light speed through Snoke's ship was f**king great.

Mother f**king YODA IN THE HOUSE.

Oh and Poe is great, hopefully he takes the reins of the rebellion with Carrie Fisher unfortunately not going to be a part of Episode 9.

That was wild, so many twists. Definitely going to need at least 2 more watches.

I feel like Kylo was lying about Rey’s parents too, how would he even know who they were?

I thought Snoke went down weakly as well, but at least we have a fully enraged Kylo now.

Also holy f**king Yoda, and holo Luke that was crazy!

Who directed the 1st 1/3 of the movie? Joss Wheedon? Seriously, too many stupid yucks really turned me off at the start

I thought it was pretty dumbed down. Lots of one liners but only a few of Luke's were delivered with any charisma - others seemed out of place. Lots of dead space action where in the originals I thought the dialogue kept you much more engaged.

Snoke has about as much of the force as a carbon rod if he couldn't sense that lightsaber being moved. My problem with lazy writing like that is why don't all of the Jedi/Sith just use similar tactics to knock each other off. It has no continuity with the original trilogy in that they saw threats coming in all directions - that's what made the fights work.

But it's getting 5/5 everywhere so I accept I'm wrong haha.

Very disappointed:
- For the apparent rulers of the galaxy the first order are useless. When the Dreadknought showed up why would they target a largely unoccupied base instead of he one cruiser they were all evacuating to?
- Who's girlfriend did Domhall Gleeson bang? He's supposed to be the top man in the First Order, but is made to look an incompetent and a comedic foil the entire film.
- Kylo Ren destroys the bridge of Home One and apparently all the fighters, but has to pull back because the star destroyers can't offer any support? What's the threat? Harsh language?
- Why didn't they just contact the rest of the fleet when they were in pursuit? get another dreadknougt or another star destroyer infront of the restistance?
- Their shields suck. Falcon lands on their home planet undetected in TFA. Manage to land undetected on the Supreme Leaders flagship in TLJ due to a blinking light.

- Still no idea who the hell Snoke is and why he was so powerful. Ditto Rey.
- The whole casino subplot. Ugh.

And the whole thing with the gold dice? I personally thought it was a nice little nod to the fans like me but honestly, is the casual Star Wars fan really going to understand that reference?

This is the worst Star Wars movie of them all. Including the Christmas special or whatever the f**k that was.

I'm not even trolling. This movie is so unbelievably bad it has killed off my interest in this franchise.

There were some genuine laugh out loud moments. When the girl "dies" after "saving" Finn is exceptionally hilarious. As was any time Carrie Fisher appeared onscreen.

There was also a nod to the original trilogy special editions with lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots (and even more) of unnecessary cutaways to pointless cutesy aliens.
