Guys. This is just effective cross promotion. Referees are a huge global brand that are more well known than the NRL and this is just a clever means of getting the Broncos brand out there. Its really just us "purists" who would even care. Plus its going to sell its tits off, totally worth wrecking the Broncos brand for a round.

The Broncos have been wearing their 9’s jersey in NZ last few years. This is because of the gambling sponsorship laws preventing Ladbrokes. So they print a set of jerseys without ladbrokes and use them for 9’s AND away vs Warriors.

Was about to suggest that was almost certainly Brisbane's Nines jersey - at least half the clubs had one designed. For Brisbane they usually use it in Auckland due to gambling regs so they proceeded to manufacture.

While we are on the Broncos, I'm really over the white piping on their jersey. The only reason that piping existed in the past was because it is where the thick stitching joints were on the post super league Nike jerseys (the ones with the grandpa collars). Sublimated ones just don't make sense unless you were intentionally trying to do a heritage of that jersey. Move the 2 pipes from the shoulders and place them as 2 extra stripes on the bottom. Very simple change makes all the difference.

The "piping" does look better this year compared to last year as the collar isn't as bulky now. Still looks better without it.
