ambivalent, and occasionally jealous, would be more words Id use for my feelings on AFL.

Only sport I would use the hate in relation to is Union, and even then it more a dislike than outright hatred, as they are scum who have tried to damage RL since its inception.

Its very rewarding to know so many on here are interested in my feelings lol
Bored shitless with your views is closer to the mark. Interested? Lol

One trick pony...

I wouldn’t put it past the rugby union overlords to have had a "behind the scenes" arrangement with AFL to sustain a two pronged football code attack on rugby league. Something like : UNION stating to AFL " You attack the junior ranks of rugby league and we will give you presence in our elite private schools throughout NSW & QLD. " Knowing what union has done to rugby league in various scenarios I would not put this past these dodgy dudes whom have very significant power and influence.

Any sightings of the strat plan yet?

Don't worry you'll be the first to know.Greenbug(sic) has a drone on standby. It whines a lot,so should be able to find you place easy peasy.
No doubt a beautiful coloured brochure, with pins on maps and promises to take over the country..It'll make a good bedtime read.

Not for him, they help him get through his miserable life.

So that’d be a no then, the nrl still hasn’t made it publicly available? Amateur hour.

Oh the horror, think of the children and the passengers on the Titanic.

The NRL needs to be specific about expansion in 2022. The AFL is light years ahead of rugby league in building their game nationally. At least we have New Zealand and PNG outside Australia to call upon.

Perth and Brisbane 2 and Wellington are all urgent expansion necessities.

Whether they want a 19 team competition (with one team having a bye every week), or a 20 team competition, is a legitimate question. If we go to 20 teams then it has to be either PNG Hunters or Adelaide for the 20th spot..

All good options for growth. And maybe a mending of damage might be wise as well? Still think the Central Coast Bears would do so much good in being positive for the code. And it's an easy reclamation /strengthening of the code in this region with a win/win in Northern Sydney and the Central Coast. The dilution and procrastinating of the top flight presence in these 'heartland regions ' is not doing the game any favours and in fact giving other codes a free kick. It's a common sense/relatively easy fix to a scenario that is weakening the code and at the same time giving an unchallenged presence to other lesser codes in union and the "training run"(AFL ).

The NRL is not going to spend a new expansion license on the Central Coast. It just isn’t going to happen. The only way the Bears ever come into the comp based on the Central Coast is if one of the 8.5 existing Sydney teams surrenders its licence. And even then it’s much more likely the licence would be re-issued to one of the larger metropolitan centres interstate. If the Central Coast is ever to get a team then it will be one of those existing Sydney teams choosing to move their licence there, not the Bears. If the Bears ever want to re-enter the NRL then pretty much the only way to guarantee that is to target a large metropolitan centre that does not currently have a team and has no established expansion bid, such as Adelaide, and ensure they are part of building that bid from day one.

Leigh. You would think that both North Sydney and the Central Coast are large metropolitan centres!? Your comments are dismissive and ignorant. Economics and logistics and instant local rivalries with reclamation and strengthening the code in that area are what back this prudent move for the code. Not a blinkered neglect of what can easily be achieved. Less cost involved as well with established and dormant rugby league markets in place. I would also think, like yourself, an Adelaide centric approach, if the commonsense approach may not be adopted by the NRL as you infer. Thanks Leigh.

There's more chance of stallion contributing a decent post than a team coming out of the central coast.

Thanks for the rap ! I see logic and common sense aren't regarded too well by some in this site. I've known that for a while. As an educator and genuine fan of the code I'm tolerant even with you and others. :relaxed:

Mate - don't even bother with him on this issue - he thinks that we should return to NSWRL circa 1987 - nothing else matters.
