Discipline - a buzz word

IMO, the more important aspect is the Club’s response and whether the players in question are still with that club, whether sacked, transferred or didn’t re-sign. In the Roosters’ case, Napa is the only player that remains on their roster and there has been plenty of talk that they were keen to offload him.

This is less so for the sharks but they have still removed Carney, Barba and the 2 x lower grade players from their roster.

The only player we have removed from all of our off field incidents is Junior Paulo and by all reports, we’re welcoming him back with open arms. I will be very interested to see how we handle this latest incident. So far so good.
There are lots of factors that determine a clubs response to an incident, including whether that player is part of their long term plans.

Looking purely at where the player ended up without considering those additional factors could lead one to draw some misleading conclusions.

Sure...nothing is concrete. But purely listing incidents without looking at outcomes/responses kind of misses the point of this discussion doesn’t it?

One would also have to be a little naive to suggest that off field incidents weren’t at least a contributing factor towards a player leaving a roster.

It depends. If we are trying to ascertain who the worst behaved club is then incidents alone go a long way to determining that.

If we want to consider which club is best at managing those incidents then clearly more information is needed.

Yeah I guess it depends on whether we’re using the word discipline as a noun or verb.

Exactly ...

napa stays cos they couldnt get a decent replacement

Pearce leaves cos they got cronk

Practically all others who get the ass are either ...

a) massive constant trouble. eg carter
b) shit players
c) a good excuse to dump salary

Just had a look at the OP and you are right Meely, the list should have probably considered the mangement response as well as the set of circumstances the led to the response.

On its own it doesn’t tell much of a story.

The list looks impressive though, even if it is completely useless.

No arguments here...your commitment and follow through has to be admired.
