Quigs, In all seriousness out of the nominations presented if you were one of the judges who would you pick?

I'd be happy with Sticks Provan or Big Mal. Both mens records speak for themselves. Mal was he the first to do 4 Roo tours, Capt Club, State and Country, won comps and as Captain, and coached QLD State of O during their reign. Was a long time point scoring record holder.

And the others have done ..... what????

Provan won 10 Premierships.

Hindmarsh won 0 Premierships.

Yes very similar. Lol.
Wow premierships is what count when assessing a players skill.

Provan was an honest workman like forward, who led a team of great players.

Nathan was an honest workman like forward, who played for Parramatta.

Similar games played, similar rep records, never the match winner always the worker to provide space to better players.

Oh and Provan over Beetson everyday of the week. Great man Artie but please he was no immortal.
I have no comment other than disagree 100% . This speaks for itself.

I’m tipping meninga will be selected for the Qld suck up.

I’d be happy if they gave it to messenger & Brown, provan in the next lot.

I really don’t understand the love for lockyer
Me neither. Don't get me wrong, he was a super player, would have pretty much walked into any side at either 1 or 6, but still, he's not an immortal in my eyes. Even now whilst he's still fresh in people's mind, people aren't in awe of how good he was - he's nowhere near Lewis or Johns in terms of standing in the game. (Johns was/Is a dick, but he was freakishly talented).

Queenslanders think Lockyer is the bees knees.

Great player but yes, not an immortal.

He will be 1 day as they will get their way.

Sometimes we may criticise Wayne Bennett but his words about Norm Provan was special, He was unable to attend the event.

Congratulations Norm Proven watching him at that famous Grand Final really made my day had a tear in my eye...if Cronulla didn’t make he wouldn’t have made it down to Sydney...

f**k Mal
Hid out in the backs and ran at blokes half his size.
All behind a team that was basically the equivalent of a state of origin winning side.

To be fair, I think the NRL should be congratulated on this one. The decision to induct all 3 pre-WW2 nominees is absolutely the right one. Provan had to be there, and whilst Mal isn't my cup of tea, I can understand why he's picked. I'd have probably gone the same route.
