Really it's not up to Mary to step down. It is clear that he is only for himself and so not inclined to do so. Really, it is up to our dumb management team - Doust and the Board of Directors to sack him.

Mary should do a John Cartwright - take a back seat and sit as Assistant Coach for a few years - he is just not a first grade coach.

Lafai was invisible today except for the penalties he gave away and Aitkin is out of his depth.
Forget everything else, but given McGregor's playing career as an elite centre, why hasn't he been able to solve this problem at least?

Seriously, all the rep guys for other clubs who played Origin and mid year internationals are all flying or at least have maintained their form heading into the semis.

Our Origin and International reps....count em: Friz, Vaughan, Sims. JDB, Graham, Leeson, Widdop and Hunt who all played during that period.

Each and everyone of them, their form has fallen off a cliff since the rep season finished. This coach has no clue how to manage a squad of players through the rigours of an NRL and rep season. This has been proven time and time again.

Surely he must be sacked now?

you would think so...but he should have been sacked at the end of 2017...they then extended him...

the place is full of people feathering their own nests at the expense of the supporters...

Any other NRL Club would have acted well before now, because it has been clear to see that he is not up to it...just look at the data since mid 2014 when he took over from Price...

Our Board has a lot to answer for but will never be held to account...an absolute joke of a club we are becoming.

I don't blame too much on the players in how they are playing now , when we were comp leaders 99% of them were playing good. I know it sounds strange, but that's what was. But I think to get the best results we need to rid the whole club of this boys club culture. Look at the 20's / Intrust cup side and First grade all x players , their assistants all x players, a lot of lower grade water boys x players. The club is toxic, none of these blokes has done a apprenticeship under a good head coach, none , when Bennett came he got rid of Mary and when he left Mary came back with Mini Bus Price. The ISP cup side although sitting 3rd or 4th are badly coached by Matt Head . I will give you an example, yesterday , sat 11/8 Penrith v Wyong Roos, who I might add had about 9 guys who over last 12 months have played NRL for roosters. Panthers had a patched up side 3 u/20's players, 4 were at gold coast as part of NRL squad, about 4 out injured and they won on the bell. Wyong team Jamie Soward rates will win comp from 8th. But its their coaches they all come thru the systems in place at Penrith, they do their time , they learn before they get a gig, Guy Missio took over from Titans Head coach. But at dragons retire from footy today , tomorrow assist coach first grade. What job will Nightingale get , probably sprint coach. The club needs a new CEO once Doust goes and sack the lot and bring in outside coaches.

Two entirely different things with the same outcome.

There are other ways to achieve the same outcome, but we wouldn't contemplate those in a civilised society.
