Yes its 20 to 12 so far but Feds run started in a pretty weak era, who were his main threats Hewitt? Safin? Roddick?
Jokers 12 have come against much better opposition.

This is a complete fallacy. Look at the form of the competition Fed went through when he absolutely dominated the tour for four straight years (04-07). The Gonzo's, Roddick's, Nalbandian's, Hewitt's etc easily collect plenty of slams if it weren't for Fed. And in those years the Nadal's and Djokovic's were frequently sent packing by these guys (AO 2007 is one good example, where Nadal was obliterated by Gonzo).

And fwiw, Safin is one of the most naturally gifted tennis players of all time. Watch the 2005 AO Semi Final when he beat peak Federer. I don't believe I've seen a higher quality match in the modern era (save for perhaps Wimbledon 07/08 finals).

Congrats to Djokovic. That had to be the lowest quality match between the two since Miami '09. Credit to Djokovic for getting the elusive Masters after falling at the last hurdle so many times to Fed. Even more impressive given he's been fighting very patchy form this hardcourt season. For Fed, yeesh that was the worst one in recent memory. Struggled to land anything in the court, even when Djokovic was just pushing it back. I won't write him off, but he looked every day of 37 years old this week.

Oh look who just beat Fed again to make history
Fed is 37. To still be top 3 at his age might be his greatest achievement that no one talks about.

But no suprise that he's finally showing the inconsistency befitting his age.

Djoker and Rafa will need walking aids to get around at the same age given their style of play.

The US Open just started.

I see Rafa manually did the draw again :D

Currently watching Shapovalov-FAA. Between these two and the likes of Zverev, Chung and Tsitsipas I think we're finally starting to see a worthy crop of youngsters coming through. I'm particularly excited about Tsitsipas over the next couple of years.

My tournament tip is for one of JMDP or Cilic to catch fire and pull off the surprise.

Kyrgios/Federer will be interesting. Fed’s form is still very ordinary and Kyrgios loves fighting the top players.

I’ll say Fed in 4, but won’t be in form good enough to finish Djokovic.

Djokovic/Nadal final.

And time remains undefeated.

It's nothing short of remarkable what Fed haa achieved at ages 35-37 but now age haa finally caught up with him.

I think he'll retire after Wimbledone next year tbh. Maybe he won't even get that far if he has any recurring injury problem.

Can’t believe someone bet 35k on Federer at 1.02... to win $700... one lesson I have learnt betting in betting is don’t bet on Tennis.... one of the betting lessons that I did learn when I started betting... although I did win quite a bit betting against Marat Safin back in the day after he won a big tournament and then would bring 3 blondes into his box for the next tournament... so many times he went out 1st round... I couldn’t figure out why

Well done Millman.

Millman and De Minaur have more courage and guts in them than Kyrgios has in his pinky finger.

Novak should get Millman in straight sets as Millman may struggle to back up but doesn’t matter as he’s done brilliant.

With beating Fed Millman will now go up to 37 in the rankings which is 12 places higher than his previous career high ranking.

This Thiem/Nadal match has turned into a belter after an underwhelming first two sets

Yay he won. He's going to have it tough against Del Potro and then even tougher against Djokovic if he makes it that far.

Brilliant match.

Such a brutal loss for Thiem.

4 UEs in the TB. When it comes to the crunch the next gen players just continually fall short against the mental titan that is Nadal.

Nadal might just be the most competitive player of all time...
