Merrin is not worth the 700k hes on if we let him go to knights surely we can keep peachey
We can't keep Peachey he has signed elsewhere. And he didn't do much last night either. Oh I know he was good last week but so was Maloney. This is short memory central.

It is with great sadness that I agree with you on Merrin. I don't expect him to be with us next year.

If you're Ivan Cleary, do you trade Maloney for Peachey? I think he would.

Gus could not have been any more firm in saying Maloney isn't for sale. Take from that what you will.

I wouldn't swap Maloney for Peachey.
Maloney couldn't walk after last week's game I wasn't surprised he did nothing last night. He proved his worth last week in big games. He will have neck surgery in the off season and hopefully he is 100% next year.
I would give him one more year here. Hopefully he retires from rep footy and gives it all he has got next year.

Im sure we could keep both maloney and peachey for next yr free up some cap space by offloading merrin and im sure titans wont want a player who doesnt want to be there.Maloney is rocks and diamonds can win you a game and can surely lose you a game with his poor defence and decisions in defence.

Maloney was awful last night. We know that, he knows that.

He’s a gun and I’m super happy he’s at our club.

I never wanted to lose Moylan, but that’s done and dusted now.

Bring on 2019 with a Fit n Firing Jimmy Maloney leading the way.

Depends how he starts the season. He wasn't too bad til he picked up that injury in Origin 3. So you make sure of it and get him to retire

He was pretty good prior to the injuries. The missed tackles weren’t nearly as bad, typically he’d at least slow someone down. But the second half of the season has mostly been poor.

If Peachey had a set role in the side and we had a 6 ready to slot in, I would consider the trade. Problem is, neither of those things are true, so that's a no from me, dawg.

As bad as he was last year though? He had a poor 2017 yet was still picked. Imo Keary should be the 6 and keep that Roosters left side in tact.

I'd still lean on him not too play even if Gus and Brandy get in Freddy's ear

I’d rather we play with 12 men than Keary representing my state.

Would not mind Moylan and maintain with more experience under both guys belts as halves in the NRL, Cleary and Moylan would be a brilliant pairing.

anyone saying that Maloney should be swapped for Peachey is overreacting big time
I think Maloney is probably going to decline next year. But he's easily more valuable then Peachey.

Maloney has a starting spot locked up in a position where the depth has a long way to go before developing.

Peachey is a backup in positions we can more easily cover. He could have developed into possibly our best centre had he stayed there. But he didn't.

??

Not sure what you mean, I wasn’t referencing origin in that post.

What I was saying is Maloney had a good first half of the season, poor second half.

I think the second half has a lot to do with the injuries and fatigue.

Nathan Cleary aims to finalise his future at Penrith quickly - and calls on club to name their next coach
SEPTEMBER 14, 2018Nathan Cleary hopes to finalise his future at Penrith in the coming weeks, saying he doesn’t want talks to prolong over the summer.

Cleary had originally set a November 1 date to discuss his contract at the Panthers beyond the 2019 season.

But after bowing out of the competition against Cronulla on Friday night, the rising No. 7 says he wants to move promptly on his next deal.

“I don’t want it to drag out,” Cleary said.

“I’ll have a couple of good days with the boys and do reviews and after that I’ll get down to talks and sort it out as quickly as possible.

“With that comes all the speculation and there is a lot of rubbish.

“If we can get it done as quickly as possible, I’ll be happy with that.”

In an ideal world Cleary will wait for Penrith to confirm a head coach for 2019 before making a decision on his own future.

“That would be nice, but I can’t really rely on that,” he said. “I’ve just got to focus on what I want to do and go from there.”

The Panthers are yet to confirm the club’s stance on the coaching position moving forward but Cleary has one man in mind.

He says he is the player see today because of caretaker Cameron Ciraldo and he’d like to see him handed the head coaching job next season.

Cleary has worked closely with Ciraldo dating back to his under 20s days and believes he is the coach to take the Panthers to the next level.

“I think everyone respects him and really likes him as a coach,” he said.

“In the last three weeks we’ve shown a lot of improvement and it is a credit to him.

“I’ve always loved playing under Siro. He has kind of turned me into the player I am today.

“He has shown a lot of faith in me.

“He has also taught me a lot of things along the way and he has always backed my ability.

“He helped me through the 20s and over the last year or two while he has been in and around first grade.

“I’ve owe a lot of my achievements to him.”

Cleary enjoyed a stellar 2018 season, including a successful Origin debut with Brad Fittler’s triumphant NSW Blues.

All this success was temporarily forgotten on Friday as the Panthers No. 7 came to terms with his side’s thrilling one-point loss to Cronulla.

Cleary had a chance to kick a field goal to send the match into extra-time but failed to convert.

“We’ve worked all year to get in that position and to not get that field goal is pretty disappointing,” he said.

“I kind of feel like I’ve let the boys down but oh well.

“The boys came out a different team in that second half and it is an absolute pleasure to play in this team.

“To be able to do that shows a lot of character. I was very proud of that.

“It has been a massive year for me. There have been highs and lows. I’m definitely feeling the low now but I’ve taken a lot of valuable experiences out of the year and it kind of fires the hunger in the belly even more for next year.”
