Im still stuck on the why we want Ivan as opposed to the how and when we get him.
I'm not convinced that we do want him. There's been nothing official since Gus mentioned the original conversation between Ivan and O'niell. The media attention that this would bring was no doubt the trigger for Hook's demise, but the whole conspiracy doesn't ring true with me. I don't think Gus is the Autocrat he's been made out to be and I believe his power is diminishing at the club. It's an unpopular opinion, but I'd go as far as saying that Gus has been truthful for the most part and that his involvement has been minimal.Im still stuck on the why we want Ivan as opposed to the how and when we get him.

Exactly. It is their choice. We don't have to pay because we outsmarted them, paying someone when you don't have to or giving away more players would be stupid.
Anyone else here thinking about poor old Tim Grant in all of this??
Only 99%, me I’m 100% he doesn’t want Ivan backWell, this is the key question. Obviously it is to keep Nathan, but we really have to question whether he is worth the fuss. And I'm 99% sure Gould would rather not have Cleary snr. back.

Have we outsmarted them though? Gus wants his man for next year, the Tigers know this. They have just as much power as us, hence why I think we’ll compensate them, they’ll release him & everyone will live happily ever after.
Rumour going around we are chasing Matheson Johns from the dragons.
I as telling my partner the same thing.Everyone crows about the salary cap making a close comp yet the top 4/prelim games are all prem winners from the last 5 years and Storm will be playing 3 GFs in a row and going dor back to back. The salary cap really isn't helping.

Sounds like sour grapes to me. Maybe they have coaches and players who know what they are doing?
