I'm not convinced that we do want him. There's been nothing official since Gus mentioned the original conversation between Ivan and O'niell. The media attention that this would bring was no doubt the trigger for Hook's demise, but the whole conspiracy doesn't ring true with me. I don't think Gus is the Autocrat he's been made out to be and I believe his power is diminishing at the club. It's an unpopular opinion, but I'd go as far as saying that Gus has been truthful for the most part and that his involvement has been minimal.
I think the club's faith in Ciraldo is genuine, not to say that Ivan won't join the club at some stage. When Ivan was still with us, there was talk of him eventually replacing Gould, so maybe that's how it pans out down the track.

Well, this is the key question. Obviously it is to keep Nathan, but we really have to question whether he is worth the fuss. And I'm 99% sure Gould would rather not have Cleary snr. back.

Every club was lining up to sign Bathan a year in advance because they were legally allowed to. Why should signing a coach legally be any different?

Its up to the club to decide if they want to keep someone committed elsewhere. Like we did with Peachey. Dragons did with Merrin etc. Tigers need to decide that with Ivan.

The way he has been playing whether Ivan comes next season or not Grant will probably be playing reserve grade anyway.

Have we outsmarted them though? Gus wants his man for next year, the Tigers know this. They have just as much power as us, hence why I think we’ll compensate them, they’ll release him & everyone will live happily ever after.

I think this qould be right if we didn't have Ciraldo. The club seems to have a lot of faith in him if need be.

Yep that's it. Or it could be the people who run the game banging on about how great the salary cap works when we've got the same results happening over and over at the top. If that's the game then so be it but don't lie about it as a marketing gimmick.
