Last night was speaking with a very high ranking Panthers representative. We were speaking about our poor first half performances - discipline, execution etc. His response was that it will be fixed by the coach who will be in place before end of October.

Could be a new assistant coach, I guess. Or ...

I just can't wrap my head around the slow starts or fast starts being down to a coach. I understand if it's a certain game plan & you're being found out early, but just not sure how a coach (prior to a game) could change individual unforced errors.

We're talking about professional athletes. If they can't get themselves up for a game or they're the opposite & are always on their game, surely that is solely on them.

While Corey Harawira-Naera is the only first grader released since Hook was sacked. Our player turnover is not even in the same ballpark.

The only players from that list that would be in our current top 17 would be Moylan, Peachey and Rein

We can't just keep everyone else in reserve grade when other clubs are willing to give them a shot and probably more money.

We can't just keep everyone else in reserve grade when other clubs are willing to give them a shot and probably more money.

Why not? The player signs a deal it should be honored. They should only sign one year deals if they want that flexibility

I am certain no coach would pick a player that does that stupid stuff at training. Not everything is the coaches fault

not true really. nothing a good coach cant fix.

some of these dumb starts come down to discipline and giving away silly penalties and turnovers, and then the points pile on and its hard to gain momentum again until the halftime break or close to.

fixing our discipline in the first half can help get rid of the poor starts.
