No matter which way you spin it, Ivan Cleary to Wayne Bennett is a massive upgrade.

So if the Tigers can pull this off it'd be like getting dumped by an unattractive girlfriend only to stumble balls deep into the hot chick of your dreams.

*edit* I apologise if that conjured any mental images of going balls deep in ole Wayne.

Little Wayne agrees with this.

Nah. No Co-coaches. Ivan Cleary's deeply profound ethics, his rock solid foundations of honesty and integrity, his un-swaying commitment to completing his tasks and seeing a job through, his perfectly oriented moral compass won't let him share coaching duties.
Men of honour and integrity like Ivan prefer to carry that cross alone, as a beacon to all souls searching for a just and honourable leader to show them how to stay strong to the 3 pillars of being a man. Truth, Integrity and Honour.
Chins like Ivan's don't just grow on any common man. I know only one other bloke who had a chin like that, and he was a lawman. A gallant, ethical, honourable lawman.
I speak of none other than Dudley Do-right. You youngsters might have to look up your tube on the computing net machine, but when you do, you'll see what I'm talking about.

I really don't get the fuss on McGuire, seems like a stock standard forward to me and surely not run on Australian lock,

Must have better suck than a Dyson

How or why a bloke who is blind in 1 eye gets put in dummyhalf so often I dunno. Especially for Australia.

So many better players. Tyson Frizzel is a f**king beast no way he should be starting off the bench for anyone! Kaufusi, McGuire and f**king Cordner over Friz? Pull the other one.

Definitely.

No coach in the NRL would want a squad containing 9 players with Origin experience.

FFS. Do you blokes have any idea?

How about you f**k off your origin stars and see how you go next season.
Lol I don’t think you even know what you’re arguing any more!

Yes, the Broncos had 9 players to play origin in the last 2 years (calling them origin stars is a stretch).

Despite this, it’s definitely also arguable that they have the 7th or 8th best roster in the comp in 2018!

Again, what club, coach or supporter would claim 9 Origin players - more than any other club - makes for a squad that, in your opinion, hardly ranks among the top half of the comp.

FFS.

Apparently Seibold is being interviewed by Broncos.....according to NRL.com

BRONCOS

Lockyer to sit on panel to decide next Broncos coach

Brisbane legend Darren Lockyer will sit on a three-man selection panel which will decide the next Broncos head coach, with candidates set to be interviewed in the next fortnight.

Broncos director Lockyer, chairman Karl Morris and CEO Paul White make up the panel that will interview the candidates, which NRL.com understands will at least include New Zealand coach Michael Maguire, Broncos assistant Jason Demetriou, South Sydney mentor Anthony Seibold and Maroons coach Kevin Walters.

.... I forgot ... that crop of forwards at the Broncs is definitely poor quality as well... Pangai Jnr, Lodge, Haas, Sua, Ofahengaue, Fifita etc.

Such poor quality Wayne has decided against rushing in and resigning them all to big money deals.

Not to metion Dally M Rookie of the year in Isaako.

Terrible quality in the squad outside their 9 Origin stars.

Dude, I get it, you like your squad! Most fans do - hell, there are dragons fans who actually believed that Lafai is a decent centre and that Aitken was actually in line for an origin jersey!

In reality, while those forwards have shown great potential and ability, they are 2 years away from being as dominant a unit as, say, the Melbourne, Souths or Dragons pack. And lol@Lodge being an example of anything other than living proof that there’s no such thing as bad publicity!

The point you continue to ignore is that, regardless of the number of players with rep jumpers or the future potential of your forward pack, your Top 17 as a whole was not all that crash hot. Most as inconsistent at best, although many are simply average. That’s before you lost Gillet for the year! Wayne did alright maintaining them and coming home hard to come in 6th.

Ergo broncos need more than 9 origin players.

They need the whole team plus interchange like when they used to win.

There may be a correlation between the fact that the Broncos have "only" 9 pretty average origin players and the fact that QLD had a very average origin team and lost the origin series.

BTW those that are suggesting that Broncos should win the comp because they have 9 Origin players realise that there are only 3 Qld based teams dont you? With the advantages the QLd teams have (not competing with Sydney prices etc, they have almost a monopoly on good Qld plyers so you would expect that they should each have probably 6 or 7 no?
