Ehh, we have a good forward pack but it's nothing compared to how much better 2014 Souths were compared to the rest of the comp considering the form the Burges brothers. Maguire has had his successful off the back of forwards that were absolutely head and shoulders above the competition. I think he'll have some difficulty at the Tigers given the quality of their forwards and how much Maguire likes to play a forward oriented football similar to Hasler. There's no one like like Burges bros or JWH/Tapau at the Tigers.

I think he could win the premiership at the Dragons because they have the forwards to play to his style. Here, with Mkendary injured, Merrrin out of form, RCG inconsistent? I doubt it.

All the coach changes done. Next will be getting playing rosters to fit. Over the next 12-18 months that will happen. Can only really judge who got the better deal then

Klemmer unhappy atm, asking for a release to sign with knights. if we were smart we would dump Merrin and swoop Klemmer up

Yeah, of course. I was just saying I have my doubts Mag is the coach people are making him out to be. He's effective as hell given the right players but outside of that all he has on his first grade record is how flat his team became at the Bunnies.

He'd be a great buy. Personally I'd rather have Tapau because with his offloads he gels better with Dylan Edwards' support focused style of play. But I'd be stocked if we got Klemmer.

You need luck to win the comp. only takes a few key players injured and it can turn into a long year. How many Tigers players are established? He would get more freedom there then at most clubs to build to his style

Gus didn't mention Ivan in the firat presser. The media did because it was the natural assumption as we have Nathan.

At the time of the "first presser" Gus had sacked Hook because ( Quote Phil Gould at his Ch 9 footy show among buddies BS session) """"we had to terminate Anthony Griffin as coach immediately as Ivan was about to speak to the Tigers board and it wouldnt have been fair to Anthony Griffin"""( yeah right...whatever)
Ivan declared (with shaking hands at his one and only prepared statement on the matter) that he thought the meeting was about Nathan's future and was entirely surprised to find that it was about the coaching position ( that wasn't vacant at that stage)..BUT...BUT..Guss claimed that first meeting was just about buying Ivan's house!...what??..how about picking one story and sticking to it!..remember any of this?....talk about Faulty fkn' Ivory Towers!!....all that was needed to finish it off was a red ball on the nose and some flapper shoes.
Forget the shuffling of reality. .you got your coach who you wouldn't have wanted and who wouldn't have wanted you if it wasnt for Nathan and Tigers got a better one.....everyone's happy.

Edit / add.....just to mention...i think Ivan IS a very good coach and will do well for you up untill Gus cant help being too much Gus and / or the father / "son running the team" dressing room cracks start to appear. ...Nathan's friends will be solid but the imports ( over 5 years) mightnt be as warm about it.....good luck anyway....to quote Vinnie Jones....it'll be emotional

Gould's twitter saying Merrin contemplating a move to Leeds Rhinos.

BTW would absolutely love to land Klemmer if he is having 2nd thoughts. His signing would round off our forward pack.

Surely we don't have half the money needed to secure Klemmer or Taupau for that matter.

Obviously happy to be proven wrong.

He couldn't very well front the media and say that he and Griffin hated each other's guts so badly that Ciraldo was now nothing more than a message boy since they weren't talking, and because of this Ciraldo now wanted out. It would make him look like a dick.

He also couldn't blame team performance since the side was in 5th (equal 4th on points) with two easybeat opponents next.

I guess it depends how much Merrin is on and if he does go to the Super League.
Give him whatever Mez is on and try topping it up with TPAs. If we need to backload a bit with some of Tamous money.

Unlikely we could get him. But certainly worth going hard after him. Might be a bit more inspiring for RCG if he has Klemmer firing him up too.

If he has a poor 2019 season he will quickly lose his rep spots completely and its not easy to get them back.

Yeah we definitely need a forward leader. Klemmer would be awesome.

We have a good culture, a group of players who are close, great facilities and structures. Our premiership window is open.

Players take pay cuts to be in a club like ours.
