Not to me it doesn't..it's likely gonna be on the BBC (fta) here

Now stop derailing thread about effing TV..

? That's great in England. It's in Australia where the issue is! Their is absolutely no derailing in this comment. The lack of FTA coverage of the World nines tournament is both embarassing and constraining for the code within Australia. The mainstream coverage is lacking and its worthy point. I suggest you have a deep look at your ignorance of something that's extremely important for this code going forward : FTA tv coverage in Australia of a World nines tournament in Sydney Australia . It's a big mistake once again!

Dude...it's only a issue to you...and we get it...nothing's gonna change is there so let it go..

No dude. It's an issue for the code and its international presence through Australian eyes!
And if you like chatting about an international tournament that will not reach the majority of the Australian viewing public, that's your call. Certainly not others.

Has it dawned on you that FTA channels might not be able to dedicate 10 hours of Saturday and Sunday TV to a single event?

They certainly did for Rugby league Sevens and nines in the past. And their are numerous FTA channel options nowadays. If women's AFL can get FTA coverage, surely an innaugural international rugby league nines tournament in Australia can get a start on one of the many FTA channels?

Why say surely when they didn’t bid for it? Clearly it can’t, move on.

? If you seriously think Womens AFL can get FTA coverage and an international rugby league tournament cannot, you are clearly missing the boat and have no idea of what is acceptable in coverage terms for such a tournament. To date not even 30% of the tv viewing public will be exposed or see this World nines tournament. A total shame and embarrassment coverage wise! I suggest you move on and progress your thinking!

Meaningless words. FTA didn’t bid, they didn’t want it. Just accept it and move on with your life.

Are you seriously suggesting that FTA , which covers various types of sports(Womens AFL, lower grade rugby league comps etc) were not interested in covering an innaugural World nines tournament in Sydney!? If so, there is something absolutely wrong! And zealots like yourself would rather sweep a major issue for this code under the carpet.

It’s not a major issue though. Sport gets sold off to pay tv all the time, that’s why sportsmen get paid so much.

It's a major issue for a sport like rugby-league . This code is trying to gain a better international presence and less coverage does not serve it well in anyone's language.

It serves the RLIF well that they get more money to invest in international league rather than giving it away for free in a country where the sport is the most watched football code.
Anyway it’s not going to change the deal is signed do you really need to keep going on about it? Why not talk about something else? The fact England are competing despite it being a GB tour for instance?

Ok I'll chat about something else. The Lions should be playing the Kangaroos somewhere in NSW this year. Apathy and ignorance should not be an aim on this rugby league forum. This stuff is happening and its effectiveness rugby league and its future big time!

Apathy sits well with some on this forum. These things like no Lions v Kangaroos game and no FTA coverage of the World nines tournament are very valid concerns. You are proving to be anice apathetic dummy!

What is complaining in here doing apart from boring everyone to death?
If you feel so strongly tie yourself to NRL HQ and make a protest but just stop whinging.

Valid discourse. It's about making sure these mistakes are discussed and known. Plenty of important stuff have and has been going by the wayside in this forum. Awareness helps!
