Maú has been strong since coming back from injury. He should be re-signed.

We still should be in a battle for the Top 8 come 30 June. You'd think putting the best time on the field is the way to go.
That hasn't worked too well so far this year though.

And maybe not. Anyway, I don't understand why it's such a big deal.
Everyone just posts (and many have) their thoughts on the game afterwards.
Why then, do we need two threads before the game, if that is your point?
I think a thread 4 days or more out from the game, discussing the selected team is somewhat different to a thread 3 mins after full-time discussing the events of the previous 80 mins... but its probably just me.

Thoughts ....

I thought Tep had a clue ... 2nd dumb tackle on a kicker in a small space of time .... enjoy your f**kin break

Moses has zero ability to lead a team ... 3 yrs of over paid shit lined up

Ive been prepared to give will smith some leeway .... ffs

Referees - ffs .... how the f**k could they miss the sharks knock on - will smith is shit but even he doesnt try and catch bombs with his face ... sivo never put his foot out ... forward passes and off sides galore

3,2,1 .... no f**kin ides

Come June 30 when development players are allowed to play, I would be tempted to name the following 1-17 for the rest of the year.

1. Gutho (c)
2. Sivo
3. Parry
4. Salmon
5. Ferguson
6. Moses
7. Drown

8. Evans
9. Mahoney
10. Paulo
11. Lane
12. Niukore
13. Nrown

14. Alvaro
15. Kaufusi
16. Stefano
17. Terepo

It won't happen but would let the off-contract players know where they stand.
And if we punt everyone off contract we will have the excuse offered that it takes time to get all the new players to form combinations. Just needs more time.
Our D has been rubbish for 6 years. Fix that and we might become competitive. Sadly I dont believe new players will fix that issue.

That hasn't worked too well so far this year though.

We're more than half way through the season and if the Titans beat the Broncos we will still be equal 8th after this Round.

We wont win the comp clearly no matter what players we put on the field, but do you sacrifice a potential Top 8 finish just to give some players an opportunity and plan for next season?

Neither of those players you've got in the centres are good enough to tie Jennings shoe laces.

Alvaro is obviously currently well down the pecking order. Why put him in the team? We clearly would rather he move on. Id say there is plenty in your team in the same boat.

Also, if the same thing happens tonight, who on the bench replaces Gutherson?

And when they are signed, they can be picked.
It might help attitudes and effort levels which seem to be the biggest issue we have at the moment.

But that theory also presumes we want to keep signed players. I doubt Evans, Alvaro or Terepo would be offered a deal if off contract, although the Coach has re-signed two of those more than once, so who knows.

Jennings attitude and effort arevery good at the moment and he is not signed. He is also playing very well. How would dropping him until he is signed improve his attitude? How will that improve his performance?

I have us at even money to win one of the next 2 and be on 14 points at June 30 going into our bye.
That should have us in the top 8 for our clash against the Tigers at BankWest in Round 17 and realistically, that 1-13 I listed is only missing Jennings and Ma'u from what would be named if the whole squad was available anyway (Gower would replace Stefano on the bench probably). Hoffman seems to have picked up an injury and I reckon it is time we saw Salmon and Kaufusi back from Wenty.

Alvaro only needs to hit the laps and lose the extra weight he is carrying. I don't think he is too far down the pecking order as there has been talk his form slump is due to the extra kilo's. Who else in my 17 do you think we want to move on? They are all signed for 2020.

If we lost Gutho I would shift Ferguson to 1, and push Lane into the centres (Ma'u if he was in the team) with Salmon moving to the edge.

Moved a reserve grade bum who shouldn't even be playing to fullback when he had two proven first grade fullbacks playing on the right hand side and at least 2 back rowers who couldve played in the centres to cover for them.

Makes Mahoney play 80 every week. How many clubs do that besides Melbourne?

We are absolute shit with will Smith and pen terepo doing absolutely f**k all every week in important positions.

But still they get picked every week...

I'm not a first grade coach but my mind still boggles at the incompetence.

We lost a player in the first 2 minutes so everyone gave up. It's a f**ken disgrace.

There isn't a middle forward above the age of 21 I'd keep, except for Brown. We're probably however stuck with Paulo. The rest should be told they will spend the rest of their contract in second grade. So pack your bags now.

We need to buy new player who will fix our D.
That has to be the focus of our recruitment because as we saw last week against Souths, when we turn up with a strong attitude in D, we are a different side.

We have the 4th best attack (points scored) in the comp and yet the worst defence. Don't need to be a rocket surgeon to workout where we need to focus our recruitment.

Every team in the NRL, including Dogs and Titans, have the ability to turn up and do that once a month, but most of them cant do it often enough to make a Top 8 and very few can do it when it matters to win a comp.
