A sad loss but you can't keep them if they want to leave. On the surface it seems maybe it was a player-coach thing, as Waqa has been barely first grade standard this year when he could have played for NSW if he'd kicked on. Maybe too its no coincidence that the team has put some wins together since he's been out. Maybe the truth will come out. Ivan seems to fall out with more players than the average coach, more than Hook even, if that's what it is. Or maybe it's the club itself. There is a long history of releasing quality players. Maybe they pine for the waves. Questions, questions, questions.

There's nothing wrong with it. Although Ivan has a history of things like that for guys he wants to get rid of.

We dont know exactly what happened behind closed doors. But we do know that Isaah Yeo said DWZ was training everyday with the boys. Getting along with everyone and when the media hammered Dallin for something bad about the culture here he refused to bag us and told them to look elsewhere.

So whatever was happening behind the scenes he still seemed to love the club and his teammates.

So why ask for a release then? not all must of been happy

I don’t think it’s all that fair blaming Ivan. I’m quite sure Waqa is being moved on because Ivan thinks he isn’t a good player.
He’s either:

A: Not happy and wants to leave, or

B: Being paid to much and we need to fix up our cap.

If we are honest, Blake hasn’t been that great for a while now. Naden has shown way more in his few appearances. Whilst I admit, Naden has a long way to go, he’s at least hooking in and having real go.

What’s a while? He was good last year, Blake was only poor this year, but the whole team was.

We need points. Peach brings more points than anyone currently in our side besides Maloney and maybe Kikau. He is exactly what we need, a livewire who will play off the cuff and go looking for the ball.

He's been the opposite of that at the Titans.

Because our coach is a f**king idiot who treats his players like shit the second he wants them gone.

I said he didnt hate the club or his teammates. The coach though... i dont see how anyone could like him after the past 12 months.

He was fantastic for us last year, sure he struggled this year but if that’s all it took to get released we wouldn’t have enough players to field a team right now.

Giving up a potential elite centre for a guy whose had a handful of decent games is an idiotic move, what happens if Naden goes through a rough patch of form? Just release him and bring in the next flavour of the month? Our player retention policy is a f**king joke.

That's exactly what will happen and we'll continue to watch our players become good elsewhere.

Just a question, he is a potential elite centre, he’s been that for 7 years, when does he become an elite centre?

Feb DWZ says he is so happy to have Ivan back..2 months later he is one of several players dropped due to bad form. Yet he asks for a release

I have been largely indifferent to the 65 or so player releases that have happened over the past few years. But I am not happy with the seemingly impending one with Waqa. This could come back to bite us hard.

Probably now that he’s going to a team that knows how to get their outside backs quality ball and is competent in attack.

Even if Blake isn’t in the upper echelon of centres yet he was still the best back at the club, it’s not like he’s a bad player who was overhyped in our juniors and hasn’t kicked on like so many before him, he has improved massively since his first year and is still only 24. With so much footy ahead of him he could easily become elite.
