What Betcats said about Bird's arthritis is a massive concern. That's not just something you shrug off or pop a pill and get through. I can't imagine it's a secret in the RL world though, let alone something that would get past a routine physical. I just can't imagine how we would sign someone with a problem that debilitating.

I'd take a firing Bird over Walker any day.
Its well known from before Sharks signed him. The medixation for him is quiet expensive. But Sharks and Broncos both signed him knowing of the issue.

His ACL injury is the bigger issue. They can destroy players. Mansour and Whare havent been the same since doing their ACLs. At their best both were arguably better than Bird IMO. But either way they returned as a fraction of the player they were before.

What he has is rheumatoid arthritis, it’s not bone on bone like normal arthritis it’s a disease that causes the tissue in his joints to swell up because of something to do with the immune system, most commonly it’s small joints like the hands but in severe cases like Bird it’s in knees and hips also... it’s very painful. It just flares up randomly for days even weeks then goes away, during a flare up he’d only be able to train and play with needles in the joints for the pain and a lot of work to reduce swelling. Someone close to me recently got it hence my knowledge, I’m pretty sure it slowly gets worse over time but I could be wrong about that, I know it never goes away though.

What worries about me jack is one of the treatments to relieve a flare up is a cortisone injection, I’ve seen how effective this is it works very quickly but it was explained to us that the more times you do it the less it works. If Jacks had a few already it might get a lot harder for him to manage, I don’t know if he has though.

I see what you're saying, ACL'S can ruin a player, In saying that, What about Peter Wallace, he had a few reco's and got better and better.
I've done an ACL so I know the injury, rehab and how it plays with your confidence for a long time after.

I heard a rumour recently that the tigers were chasing the Blore boys to join immediately m, source came from a family friend to them, so seems legitimate I suppose.

Personally hope it’s not true, I want Shaun’s first games in FG as a panther to see what he can do

That's thick coming from you
Wha??? Sorry have met, are you also another parra fan, pretending to be a penrith fan, im not sure where I've offended anyone other than supporters from pawwa, again im ok with people who follow multiple teams, but to boast and give advice, when their own club is in shambles for the past 7 seasons, and think our club is suffering, when really its not, Gus has said it multiple times "you cannot keep them all" pay the older ones overs, then sell em off, and use your juniors on less money to cover their spots. If anyones stale its Parramatta's Michael Jennings, Josh Hoffman, Tim Mannah and Daniel Alvarro

Coming up to 30 years as a Panther Fan. I just think being a jerk should only be on Facebook

Sounds about right.
I heard a few weeks back Dean Blore was unlikely to be retained next year.

The arthritis will undoubtedly be an issue later on in his life, but it’s not the reason he has struggled for a while.
He undoubtedly knows pain, it’s probably one of the things that drives him to compete.
I think it’s his attitude more than anything that has got him so far.
He must be very determined and hardworking and I will back him to overcome his acl injury.
If he is cheap and not on a long term contract he could be a very good pickup at centre.
I really don’t like the 5/8 idea though.

It’s definitely an issue now he had to stop playing footy at one point in his teens, if they sign him though obviously they think they can manage it.
