Some people unhelpfully pass off their opinions as "facts" and even the facts of other as "opinions". Its a shit trait and is designed to create impression that their values and beliefs are more important than others.

So in a lot of cases it probably isn't important to distinguish between facts and opinions. That said, I believe there is a difference between the two in a lot of cases.
