Im going to say something controversial...

It doesn't really matter!!!!

It is good that they are engaging fans in regional Australia. But, in terms of crowds, i think they would be much better off going south to Campbeltown and east to Blacktown. Relatively high density areas and a fairly short trip to Penrith.

If they could cover these areas to be “Panthers territory” that will convert i to attendance.

I thought this was a good point, but Sydney is about 285 times bigger than brisbane.
Everyone says Penrith is in Sydney, but yeah it's f**ken no where near the cbd....

yeah but some idiot put Sydney CBD practically on the coastline.

Ipswich to the coastline of Brisbane is about 50km, which is the same distance from Penrith to Sydney CBD.

Well would you call Logan Brisbane?
Of course it is,

Living in Greater Brisbane
There are five main urban centres which you may choose to live in, each with their own local council. Each council has information on their website for residents, things to do and business support. These areas are also all connected by Translink train and bus services.

A smart cities overview is available for Greater Brisbane, which provides information about housing, infrastructure and liveability. There is also some community hubs for migrants at some of the schools in the area.

Brisbane City

Brisbane city is a global hub with a population over 1.18 million. The Brisbane City Council is the largest local government in Australia and their website has comprehensive information for the public, from major events held in the city centre to laws and permits. Their community support page also has information about multicultural services and a new residents guide.

Ipswich

Ipswich is the oldest provincial city in Queensland with a history dating back 1904 and a population of 200,000. Ipswich City Council is the local government body and this area is located in the south-west of Brisbane’s metropolitan area. The population is estimated to more than double by 2031, especially with the continued development of the Greater Springfield. For what’s on in Ipswich, see Discover Ipswich.

Logan City

Logan is a young city with more than 300,000 people from 217 different cultures and it is located in the south of Brisbane’s metropolitan area. It also shares a border with the Gold Coast. Learn more about living in Logan on the Logan City Council’s website and Visit Logan. Other useful websites include Office of Economic Development which provides business support and investment assistance.

Moreton Bay

Moreton Bay is located north of Brisbane’s metropolitan area and shares a border with the Sunshine Coast. The Moreton Bay Council looks after this area and keep up to date with funding and employment opportunities with their e-newsletters. It has a population of over 430,000, which includes Redcliffe, Caboolture, Beachmere, Bribie Island and North Lakes. Learn more at the Visit Moreton Bay Region website.

Redland City

Redland City is also known as the Redlands, is located in the southeast of the Brisbane metropolitan area with a population over 151,000. The area includes mainland suburbs such as Capalaba, Cleveland and Redland Bay, and island suburbs such as North Stradbroke, Peel Island and Russell Island. Learn more at the Redland City Council website.

Greater Western Sydney perhaps? :)
Shouldn't we then play in homebush like the giants of AFL.... hawhawhaw
Nah i reckon if it came down to it yes we are, but in tthe context of who we can represent is more anything west of st marys to central west nsw, so it can be both really, i mean st george are now are merged with illawarra, so they could also fit that bill too, but kogarah is most definitely in sydney, im more than happy to be either, especially when it comes to the debate of too many teams in sydney, or mergers, penrith is far enough west that it needs not to be in the conversation.

Wollongong is 87km to the CBD.
Katoomba (in the Penrith junior league still) 105km

Katoomba isn’t part of Penrith. That’s like saying Canberra is a NSW team because Queanbeyan play in the Canberra comp. Your city/suburb boundaries aren’t defined by what clubs play in your local rugby league junior comp.

Geographical centre of Sydney is somewhere around Parramatta, 24km west of the CBD.

- Penrith is 35km west of Parra.
- Katoomba is 81km west of Parra.
- Wollongong is 86km south of Parra.

Penrith is comparable to this place. Population is similar, and it had its origins as a provincial town in the 19th century. Penrith is a bit further from the capital, but because Sydney is a much larger metropolis and the area to the west (the Cumberland plain) is more building friendly than the north and south, it is more or less contigious suburbia to the CBD. This is the very reason you could never expect Penrith supporters to travel even to Parramatta (36km) for their home games.

Which shows you the biggest flaw in the Western Corridor bid, imagine Penriths original bid had home games not in Penrith but Moore Park.

If we'd been good enough we would have had games transferred to Moore Park regularly. I can remember only one, against the Rabbitohs in '68.
