I'm not really understanding the calls from sharks fans about posters facing legal action from Paul Gallen.

Correct me if im wrong, but didn't Gallen accept the breach notice from ASADA and was banned for 12 months (back dated suspension) for taking banned substances?
He essentially plead guilty, no?

if that's the case, if i didnt just dream that up, there is no debate to be had here. The man plead guilty to taking a banned substance... the only question is whether what was handed down, that being the 12 month back dated suspension, was adequate punishment for the infraction committed.

There is some nuance in that, in terms what what duty of care and what reasonable level of trust Gallen and co should have in their club and team doctors, but all doping agencies make it perfectly clear that an athlete is ultimately responsible for what goes in their bodies. As far as that is concern, Gallen accepted his breach. He is, at his own admission, a "drug cheat"

I suspect Gallen has come to terms with this, it's weird sharks fans have not.

Re: Carroll and Gallen, who gives a shit if two lumbering idiots are jawing at each other. It's probably just some ruse to set up a bit of a rivalry for some boxing match down the line.
I don’t think one single person is saying Gallen didn’t take the backdated ban offer.
In fact we are not even talking about that.

Lebbo73 is saying Gal had unprecedented numbers for a decade. The peptides thing lasted 4 weeks in 2011.

Unless he is suggesting that peptides provides a decades worth of performance enhancement even before you actually take them, he is suggesting Gal has taken more.

referring to myrrh ken who seems to think posters are risking litigation from Gallen for stating facts.

So what would happen if your hypothetical eventuated?

It seems like you think they took some kind of big risk just to stitch up the sharks and create a worse headline for the sharks? That is seriously delusional.

COVID shut the whole world down but there is no way it could hold up ASADA? you are sounding ridiculous. Paul Gallen stupid.
Hypothetically, I’d say a player Injured by a drug cheat has a good case...especially if ASADA knew he was playing on the juice.
That’s their whole job to get drug cheats out of sport.

xerri Test was in Nov 2019
COVID didn’t have an effect on the NRL until Mid/late March .

he’s questioning the sporting performance of a player who is a self confessed cheat
I’m gonna go out on a ledge here and say he’s not going to be seeing any cease and desist letters anytime soon, champ

I agree he is saying he cheated before and after 2011. Good luck to him.

Gal is heading down the path of becoming the next Benny Elias, irrelevant rent a quote flog. Just shutup Gal, you had a good career, sit back, count your cash & shut the f**k up.

I doubt they give shit what sport or team it is.
If they were grandstanding, yes I think it is extremely unprofessional.
That’s not the role of their job.

I am highly sceptical of the time it took.
I’m not alone
NRL legends , Gould , Sterling, JT All questioned it.
Gallen ( regardless of your personal opinion of him ) has way more knowledge on The workings of ASADA and how long it takes to get tests back.

ASADA haven’t even given a reason
They left that to ex employees Ings to do with his pathetic bushfire theory.
It’s completely ridiculous.

Haha what a coward. What was that stuff about coincidence then?

Taumololo has great stats as well doesn't he?
How many tackles does he complete per game? The Cows have had problems with their defence in the middle third since forever. Even in 2015 they struggled there.
Btw, Gallen admitted guilt to taking peptides. My conspiracy is that the Sharks probably paid Gallen $700k as a way to get one over the salary cap. Whoever thought of that at the Sharks is a genius.

Have a look at how someone like Mark Hunt has done pursuing litigation for having been repeatedly put in ring vs known & repeated drug cheats who later test positive

It's entirely in ASADA's remit to take as long as they need to in order to pursue an investigation.

Yes, investigate, their job is not just to shuttle tests around as quick as they can but to investigate to build a case & widen the net if they can. I've already posted them on the Xerri thread so won't do so again but you can go look up WADA's rules & statutes if you like. An investigation of a a few months, the case of a player pissing hot at a club with a known recent history of doping violations seems reasonable enough to take your time & take a good, long look around before you tip your hand. As is their right.

You don’t find it even remotely sus that they release the findings when they did?

also did ASADA let those fighters train/spar after a positive test / without letting them know?
