Damien Cook even came out saying all teams do it by not turning up to the game at all if you're not playing. A lot watch from home with families.

Which is cool. Leaving at half time isn't cool though. I don't think those guys or the club should continue to cop it though.

How’s that kick on the 2nd tackle when your life is on the line feel

That game showed the up and down side of Benji. Reynolds can't create those tries that Benji put on. He doesn't have it in him. He also has brain farts and dumb plays. He also wouldn't have put that kick in.

Benji is special at times but we got to move on because the poor plays are unacceptable.

A little dramatic don’t you think..And what were the options without him playing regarding attack and try scoring opportunity’s...not much right ...even if that ball had of been perfectly placed Lawrence wouldn’t have got it..so it’s a non event..but you guys will use every possible bullshit scenario to try to discredit him..
Btw Mitchell Pearce has the most missed tackles in the Comp so what ..As with life be grateful for what you have and turn the negatives thoughts which come at all of us around ..Benjis allowed to make mistakes if he’s the only one capable of creating try’s and bringing us back to parity so we can go for the win..without Benji on the field seeing a kick that we thought could win the game wouldn't have even been possible ..

The kick on the 2nd tackle isn't the issue, that part was quite clever.
The fact the kick was too heavy is the issue.

Seeing the Bulldogs get up over Souths makes me even more annoyed about letting them get off to a 20 point head start last weekend. I expect a much better defensive effort next season.

Benji can play can't he. The good plays though don't wipe out the poor ones unless you win.
How about someone else has a damned go to compliment his efforts?
I find it amazing that football fans can not see this...without Benji we lose that game comfortably. If someone else had a crack like he did we most likely win. Unfortunately when he is trying to win like he did, everyone else sits back and watches. Very rarely does someone else stand up and go with him. The last person to do it regularly was Farah.

Maybe it’s the WT culture ...keep your head down DONT act like your anything special because thats being arrogant and selfish and thats not what we are about...it’s ok to play well but don’t act like you are a star ...because you won’t fit into the humble club that we are..we don’t want players like mr nice guy Brooks being made to feel inferior or the coach having to deal with anyone with an ego that’s just too hard to deal with ...and then you’ll just have to leave Im sorry..If you try to be a winner and you dare to behave like one we will tear you down ....if it means staying at 9th so be it..That kind of explains everything to me for the first time
Coz I’m the same..how can such knowledgeable WT fans just not see it with Benji and Farrah

Valid points stryker, I'll put my hand up and say I have for the most part been very indifferent in regards to Benji. Unfortunately that has been based on his defence and more times than not, the guys around him letting him down.

This year I say his forwards have let him down with 2 exceptions, Grant and Eisenhuth.
Grant has been the standout forward without a doubt.
Eisenhuth (9 appearances + 3 interchange) has missed tackles for sure but IMO has done very well and more so than the guys who have played more games in the forwards like: Aloiai (17 appearances), Garner (15 appearances) Leilua (18 appearances but runs around like a chook without it's head),

We will never ever know but injuries to the likes of Musgrove (2 appearances + 2 interchanges & Twal (10 appearances + 1 interchange) certainly didn't help. One shining light to me though was McIntyre.

We have two problems:-

1. Benji when on is a huge part of our attack. We don't have a player that can ball play close to his level in the top team.
2. Benji has too many poor plays in him and we have too many potential halves in our squad to justify re-signing Benji.

Hopefully letting Benji go and getting a couple of signings for next season can lead to an overall improvement in the team.

@Old Time Tiger - I think Aloiai has been the pick of our middle forwards by far. LL has been really good on the edge as well. Eisenhuth to me has been solid but not great. Grant is a special player. It's going to be hard to replace him assuming he goes.

The term derives from the Latin complēmentum, meaning “something that completes.” So, that means if something complements something else, it completes it, enhances it, or makes it perfect.

Not necessarily another playmaker more like other players who are just as keen and ready to finish or help finish whatever it takes rather than catch pass hope, catch pass hope for the best..forget about mistakes
& Being ready for the Benji’s pass as a winger NOT being 2 metres short etc etc
No wonder he kicked too long. He had to do it all..
Obviously another playmaker would be good but we’ve only got Brooks getting paid double what Benjis on and for a million years
What you were seeing was Benjis will to win It’s not about trying hard or making sure you don’t make mistakes but Will to Win!!! Without that it’s impossible to win..Benji has that regardless of the time left in the game or the score..

He just needs some help..Maybe Reynolds can do that.Lead weight Brooks obviously can’t

Blame Benji pilease

I'm not blaming Benji for anything other than his on field performance. Cameron Smith is such a consistent footy player and Benji isn't. He is inconsistent throughout the game and over the course of the seasons.

Did you watch his game against Manly ? It was embarrassing for Benji. Did you see how good his ball playing was against Souths. It was as good as I've seen from any player this season. Then he puts in a dud kick when we needed someone to ice the big play. It's not his fault that the team lost especially when he was carrying us in attack but with the squad we have now and the players we need to get I can understand the club letting him go.

We can win without Benji. We won against Manly. Other players stepped up.

Smith is consistent because he is surrounded by players that complement him..it certainly helps anyway..he’s not constantly trying to push shit uphill
