look at when the guys were all signed though. Who deserved a longer deal at the time? Maybe you extend Yeo last off season.

The others were fringe FGers to start last season. When they became regulars we were deep in the premiership race and you don't do deals then

Half of them should have been extended 3 to 6 months ago.
Once it became clear Tamou was leaving and then Hetherington on the outer Leniu should have been a higher priority.

The main concern is over Leniu, Burton and the Crichton situation.

Losing Laurie is disappointing but not the end of the world. We were always going to lose someone in the backs.
Start of 2020 I had Burton infront of Luai but Jerome has well and truly won the spot.
Critter situation is normal as is Leniu

The Leniu situation is bad because we released Hetherington before we re-signed our preferred option. Now we might go from having one of the strongest prop rotations to one of the weakest.

The Crichton situation is far from normal. You don’t do a handshake deal and expect a 19yo to honour it. That’s amateur hour.

Would’ve you re-signed Mansour then?

I definitely would of attempted too at the very least. If its a straight choice between Staines & Mansour, I keep Mansour. Holistically I think he’s a better fit for the club at this time.

We have ripped out the heart of our playing group losing Tamou & Mansour & potentially Whare. Mansour has been a part of the furniture here, someone who is extremely passionate about the club, a leader of the club & player group for many years - very influential. How can anyone not see the issues & future issues with kicking him to the curb mid contract?

Maybe for next year but 2022 or 2023?

I’d be fine with re-signing Mansour if it was to a very minimal contract as a backup, but no way is he a better option than Staines in the next few years. Our backline needs pace, we were blown off the park by the Melbourne back 3 in the grand final. To’o can play the Mansour role.

I think the club should’ve waited a couple of more weeks before telling Josh, to do it 2 days after the GF was poor. Alternatively offer him a new deal as a backup.

Tamou I definitely would’ve liked to see retained, but I’m not sure how far apart we were on money. Part of the reason we’re struggling here is because the salary cap is going down, and on top of that we’re paying guys to play elsewhere.

When Tamou spoke on leaving he mentioned making room for the young blokes that are getting ready for 1st grade now. These guys getting up around 30 should understand their time is coming to an end at a club that talks up being a development club so much.

In what world dowe have thepower?

We pay more than we could of 6 months ago or they leave. The players have the power. We need to match every club desperate to land these guys or lose them.

Don’t think we need to match exactly. But we need to come close.

550k to stay at a place you know might be just as attractive as 600k at a place you don’t. It’s only 25k after taxes.

Yeah but his experience could be invaluable, it’s pretty weird to lose your captain after such a successful year.

Lets assume we don't re-sign any then we have all that cap space...much better then being stuck with potentially duds if we re-signed too early

Give me a break, now we arw talking gibber, what mansour is on, will cost us 2 players, and plus he is a winger!!! A fkng Winger!!! Seriously he has 2021 to play, he hasn't gone yet, he can still not shit all over the club, and watch staines fail, to then be recalled back up, then he'll earn his extention, but i fear he knows all this and he isn't able to wait or take a step back coz he is petulant, anyone crying over ManSauce shouldn't bother buying a membership next year, as we aren't making top 4 again if he is there, and he is too slow and too expensive for a winger when we need to wrap up our depth aswell as our other 17 first

There is still plenty of key players off contract end of next year... so not uncommon

SOO players

Coates
Lui
Addo-Carr
Finucane
Lee
Hunt
Lee
Brown
Allan
Gagai
Latrell
Angus Crichton
Friend
Tupou

14 origin players still unsigned

Jerome Hughes
Peachey
Shaun Johnson
Dufty
Hudson Young

All guys that clubs would want to keep all un-signed. So it isn't uncommon to not have guys un-signed after Nov 1

I'd be trying for Peach, at least for a cheap back up utility, imagine we lose ManSauce to gain Peach, atleast we have an experienced option thats got that heart, that isn't just stuck on the wing making mistakes
