Rabbitohs demand Daniel Tupou in exchange for Suaalii release: https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/ra...hbw.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter

Absolutely love this from the club! Being ruthless and playing hardball just as we should. It also foils the Roosters plans which is a massive plus.

I'd love to get Tupou, would love it, but to be honest I can't see it happening. There's no way the Roosters would let go of Tupou (at least I don't think they would, especially not to us) and Tupou himself may not want to come here. God I'd love to see it though. He's exactluy the kindo of winger we need!

Keep playing hardball Keep playing hardball!!

RABBITOHS SET TO LOCK UP LATRELL

South Sydney are set to secure the services of star fullback Latrell Mitchell and young forward Tevita Tatola, having announced a Keaon Koloamatangi extension on Monday.

The club will now look to lock up Mitchell and Tatola to long-term deals.

Talks continue between Souths and Mitchell’s manager, Matt Rose, while Tatola also comes off contract after next year and is looking at a new two or three-year deal.
Ive no doubt toupu would come to us, the rorters would just say to him mate...your contracts up after next year and we wont be resigning you because of your age he would say to himself its worth leaving for a 2 year contract and he would come, the rorters are ruthless

We're ruthless?

Souths are the ones who played GI for 40min with a torn ACL which ultimately cut his career short.

Souths are the ones that used up favourite son Kyle Turner until his body was broken and then you threw him away like a used tissue.

Souths are the ones who it is alleged had a club doctor secretly inject beloved Sammy B with some sort of horse tranquilizer to play through a shoulder injury.

Souths treat their players with disdain. It's probably why Suaalii's parents want their son to come play at the Roosters.

GI career shortened ? After 16 years or so he decided to pul the plug..his choice
Kyle Tuner is a mate of mine and he can thank the grub Gallen for what he did to his neck
As you said, Souths (for years) develop players and they take

Releasing Suaalii is the right thing to do as a club. There is no benefit other than ego to hold him and keep him on the sideline. All that will do is create tension around the place and potentially turn other juniors against Souths.

Sydney Roosters sign Joseph Suaalii after South Sydney Rabbitohs agree release fee
Teen sensation Joseph Suaalii will officially be on an NRL roster for 2021 after a stand-off for his services between the Roosters and Rabbitohs ended.

News Corp Australia Sports Newsroom

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have finally relented and released teen sensation Joseph Suaalii to the Sydney Roosters.

The Rabbitohs board on Wednesday morning agreed to a release fee, believed to be $50,000, to end the latest stand-off between rugby league’s two oldest rivals.

Suaalii, the King’s School student who is rated the most exciting teenage prospect in a decade, will join the Roosters immediately to begin training for 2021

He will start on a development contract worth around $60,000, the same money he was on at the Rabbitohs, but will get substantial upgrades for the following two seasons.

The Roosters will seek permission from the NRL to play the rugby union schoolboy at the beginning of next year, despite him being only 17.

ARL Commission chairman Peter V’landys was considering allowing Suaalii to play before he turned 18, which is the NRL’s minimum age, when approached by the Rabbitohs last year.

That overture from the Roosters’ bitter rivals now help the Tricolours fast-track Suaalii’s ascension to the NRL.

He could debut for the Roosters against Manly in round one at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday, March 13.

He will start training with the Roosters on Monday.

With James Tedesco locked in at fullback, Suaalii will most likely start his career on the wing to learn the ropes at NRL level.

The Rabbitohs are now on the verge of announcing a new three-year contract for superstar fullback Latrell Mitchell.

Interestingly, the deal is worth $800,000 a season – the identical amount he knocked back at the Roosters – this time last year.

The Roosters had rejected outright a proposal from the Rabbitohs to include representative winger Daniel Tupou in a player swap for Suaalii. Souths eventually accepted the compensation package to bring the messy saga to an end.

Suaalii was so highly thought of in rugby circles that Wallabies coach Dave Rennie made a special visit to see the young star when he first took on the national role, to sell him on the merits of staying in the 15-man code.

That failed and the Roosters are the ultimate beneficiaries.

Pity , you Believe your Rooster Forum HEADLINES only
GI was not medically retired dope.........AND he recently signed to play in Superleague.
Turner played on for two years after his spinal injury , in out reserves......Souths kept him to full contract until end of contract.
YOU can ask Sam about the medical episode or can continue to quote his wife.Idiot.

Oh by the way

We released Latrine to you scabs a year early, putting player welfare first.

And in return this is how you treat a 17yr old child.

It says a lot about the difference in class between the two clubs.

1 Premiership in half a century. lol@souffs

You most likely also believe that Trump won the recent election.

Comparing LM to Sualli ( and calling him a "child" ) is like comparing chalk and cheese.
The "child" would have cost Souths $60k for 2021 and LM would have cost Roosters $700k for 2020.
Roosters were upset that LM knocked back an $800k 2 year extension to stay.

Yep Latrell saw the light.

I rather Latrell over Suaali who already seems arrogant and up himself, he will fit in well at Easts.

Only one pie in the sky here and it is your simple , simply wrong input.

Suaalii currently on $60k for 2021 , which I think is rounding in CAP management.Releasing Suaalii has definitely nothing to with $60k for 2021. Souths had been planning to pay Suaalii up to $600k for 2021 if he signed the extension...........besides the $60k is in development planning if he is not planned for 2021 top side. Which is the current plan.

It is the Roosters who have the cap issues, as if they sign Suaali on "real" money and want him to play top grade in 2021 , they have the problem. If the Roosters plan to keep him on development money in 2021 they cannot play him either in top grade. So releasing Toupo actually gives them a shot to pay Suaalii more and get him into their top side early.

Well this aged well lol
