Smith was worse. Punter was certainly no better tactically.

It's a bit of a myth that Paine is this abysmal captain. People just like to take the easiest blame route.

Across the board as a nation we have a huge leadership issue that we have never addressed and you could leave a small child unsupervised in the pool of our batting depth with no fear of them drowning
Exactly brah, finally someone with a bit of Sense in this thread

I never rated Punter as a captain and i thought Smith was average but to suggest Paine is better??? Bahahahahahaha!!! Baz you have gone full Pou.

Well we're yet to resort to cheating under Paine like Smith allowed, so that's a fairly large tick in his favour.

Similar to the Eels forum mate, you can't seem to understand that someone can have a different view to you without it being totally the polar opposite... tactically I'd have Punter and Paine about par, and you know I never rated Punter in that area.

I don’t think it’s a myth. His abysmal captaincy is legendary!

India deserve a lot of credit in this series most un-Indian , over here we towelled then and they showed as much resistance as we did in Straya

for Australia this is pretty embarrassing tbh, literally an Indian B side...

I guess the argument can also be made that india is Going to be playing for a draw all the way so why let them bat last when you win the toss?

Graham Yallop??? At least he could bat, Ian Craig who got the gig far too early in his career and then got sick on a tour of Pakistan i think.

But yeah little Timmy Paine top of the pops.
Wow Ian Craig, a forgotten legend. I played cricket & went to school with his Great nephew brussy

Tactically these guys do get a lot of help. Coaches, analysts, other senior players. I'm sure he's aware of what type of options he has

Come decision time though, the biggest problem is that he's a coward - an utter coward at that. His field placings reveal his lack of intestinal fortitude and winning mentality more than anything
