I reckon if we both built a side mine would blow the ass end out of yours.
I have an excellent footy brains and can spot great league talent. Amd one thing if have said for years to win a comp you want a 2nd rower who can bust the line.
You also need some speed out wide. I reckon these are two things we lack the most.

We could have David Fifita, and Viliame Kikau in our edge forward spots - it wouldn't do much if our halves cannot create opportunities and/or pressure.

I re-watched our game against Manly, and @Noise was correct - our pack matched Manly's, but we were let down by our halves.

Watching the game live, I felt we got belted up the guys, but watching the replay, that is simply not the case.

Moses is very good, but he was poor against Manly.

We need a cool head in the halves to partner Moses, and Brown offers that.

I reckon we missed him more than we know.

You can compress but you need speed to cover the quick shifts to the edge. We don't have that and Penrith and Storm, and probably Souths this weekend, will exploit that.

We have probably the hardest draw with a lot of hard games to come. Unless BA fixes our right side, and rival coaches have already identified that as our weakness, even if BA does not, we'll drop games and be in danger of missing out of the top 4 and another wasted year.

I'm not saying that we don't need some speed out wide - but many people (yourself included, I think) are calling for Niukore to take Blake's spot.

Blake has a few deficiencies to sort out, but he is quicker, more agile, and more nimble than Niukore.

Our issues are:

(1) halves who are inconsistent in controlling the game; and

(2) we have a tendency to fall off tackles easily.

Speed would help, but Moses needs a rocket, and our pack needs to play with some more aggression.

Like @hindy111 says - we are a powerful pack. Use our advantage to steamroll our opponents.

I agree 100% with you on Niukore. I'd just like someone with better defensive reads play on the right side and have a modicum of speed. I've suggested Peninisi but others have said his defence is not much better. Opacic is a good defensive centre on the left but again doesn't have much speed.

What factor is that?

Thought I was talking about a few things, our lack of speed and how much we compress in defence, are just 2. I could also suggest our support play is poor and you only have to look at Panthers and Storm to see the way there are always support players around them and our slow ptb's. There are a few things that need improving and unless we address them we'll always be a pretender.

If there is a blowout this Saturday, which I'm fearful of, who do we blame, Blake or BA?
Nobody ever said we have the best team. I don't know why you're freaking out after our second loss of the season. There will be more of them and we don't need to blame anyone. Sometimes the opposition is just too good.

Serious question @Glenneel . What centre in the comp is has élite speed and is also excellent defensively? I can't really think of anyone that is both. Maybe Lomax? (who you did say we should look at 2 years ago and I thought he was shit) And I'm not saying that Waqa isn't annoying the shit out of me.

We had one until he firstly lost some of his speed and then he got busted doing banned substances.

Charges dropped. He's a top bloke again.

Does his wife think he's a top bloke ?

Someone's ethics and morals has nothing to do with a crime.
Plenty of people are in open relationships and polymory becomes more and more common and accepted. We have no idea of this couples arrangement as far as multiple partners and sexual activities go.

If they were in such an arrangement it would be due to a power imbalance. She is the mother of his children ffs

No no no merkin! Trying to "rip Manly apart" is what they did wrong during the game! Manly's energy was up and we weren't patient enough to wait them out. Instead we tried to score on every set and made too many errors. We should've just dragged them into the grind, let them wear themselves out in defence and won it in the 70th minute.

Whilst not being patient was an issue, there is only one reason why we started to press the panic button - Manly scored quick points against us and we found ourselves in the unfamiliar position of having to chase points. And Waqa Blake was one of the main reasons Manly scored those quick points against us in the first place. Not hard to join the dots. And the same thing will likely happen again against Souths. The fix is simple: Dylan Brown back in at five-eight, and Marata back at centre - then we can get our premiership campaign back on track and worry about speed in the backline next year. The way we've played so far this year, lack of speed has not been a major problem. I think the coaching staff have adapted well to our lack of speed, actually.
