Certainly a historic day for our game with the addition of a new club announced for 2023. Congrats to the Dolphins club and good on Wayne for potentially finding a job there. It's exciting times for the game.

How it impacts us is unknown as yet but hopefully not too much. At the end of the day, this just becomes another team for us to beat hopefully.

We need to get moving re a contract for Cody. We will have to offer him more than just 2023. I would offer him a deal for 2024 as well. We are gonna have to pay close to a million for him too I think probs around 900-950k.

If we just offer him 2023 only I think he will go with Wayne. Wayne will try get him still I reckon.

Ive got a feeling we are going to cop the sausage, no news at this stage is bad,yes im stressing, yes, because we are so naive as a club to think other clubs are not cherry picking and we show no urgency

Surely we keep Cody. I’m kind of thinking that was the plan all along.
Doesn’t he love playing with Latrell ?
The problem is that this new franchise throws a spanner in the works of previous planning.

They are mega cashed up by News Ltd and need to sign a good roster from the get go.

So Cody could be the top of their list in targets, (and Munster), and that means they could well be very willing to pay more than $1MIL per year to get him.

We won't be able to compete with that.

Gives me the s#!+s, why don't they go after that big mouth pr!(k Keary, he's a canetoad anyway

The clubs knew that the new franchise was going to happen 12 months ago

they knew Bennett was a target, so I think Souths management has planned

I don’t think they are as silly as made out to be

why clear the decks? If they had kept everyone I think that would be more worrying

also, don’t you think they would have kept Reyno? They could have offered 3 years at 600k per year and he would have stayed

I just think it is forward planning
