@Gary Gutful can you give me a review of Palm Cove? I'm thinking of coming up in May with Mrs Lorenson for our wedding anniversary.
It will be nice that time of the year and a better option than staying on the esplanade in Cairns.@Gary Gutful can you give me a review of Palm Cove? I'm thinking of coming up in May with Mrs Lorenson for our wedding anniversary.

You're an eejit. You could have whipped up a nice stew and cooked it in there....Our last house in Brisbane had a built in BBQ in an outdoor entertaining area. Lived there for 6 years and never used it once.
Cheers. Sounds perfect. It will be nice that time of the year and a better option than staying on the esplanade in Cairns.
Some good restaurants and bars and a fairly laid back vibe. Port Douglas is worth a visit (even just for the drive along the coast) as well as the Tablelands.
Why would I do that when I have a slow cooker, you gobshite. You're an eejit. You could have whipped up a nice stew and cooked it in there....
Don’t get too excited. It’s also full of QueenslandersCheers. Sounds perfect.
The worst thing about QLD.Don’t get too excited. It’s also full of Queenslanders
It’s mainly full of NSWlanders and VIClanders these days.Don’t get too excited. It’s also full of Queenslanders
My german toorak tractor takes premium unleaded. So I get analed anyway.Gronk may get double analed by the ethanol fuel
+ BBQI just don't know how many cooking appliance I need.
I could survive with just a oven and cooktop and toaster quite comfortably
Just throwing it out there, Port Douglas is the better option, IMO. As Gary stated, the drive up the coast from Cairns is quite unique and worth it. Best place we stayed at in PD was the Mantra Aqueous, 100 metres from Macrossan St (restaurant strip and within walking distance of the marina), well maintained fully equipped kitchen apartments with swim out spa/pool are very reasonably priced. 9/10 Eelo rating. We looked at Palm Cove but for us it didn't offer anything like PD.Cheers. Sounds perfect.

Cheers Eelo. We are a bit time restricted due to leaving the small Lorensons at home and Mrs has a conference in Cairns straight after. So that's why I was looking at PC due to its closeness to Cairns. I'm not ruling Port Douglas out though.Just throwing it out there, Port Douglas is the better option, IMO. I don't mind Cairns foreshore precinct and surrounding areas, been up that way many times over the years. It's just that the PD/ Mossman/Daintree area has lots more to offer than Cairns, though the train trip to Karunda with the return skyrail trip is a bit of alright. It’s mainly full of NSWlanders and VIClanders these days.
