Some will call it a hoodoo, others will call it a curse. Some will say we just haven't been good enough down there, others will say we've been unlucky. Whatever way you look at it, the fact remains we have never, ever won in Melbourne. It's a big week this week as we once again play out a Thursday night blockbuster in Round 2 against the Storm down there in Melbourne. Can we finally break that hoodoo and get a win down there? Time will tell.

One thing I do know is that it's going to be one hell of a challenge this week. There's not many tougher road trips than heading to Melbourne to take on the Storm at home and we have had something like 16 or 17 attempts at it and been unsuccessful every single time. However, we simply cannot let the hoodoo be a focus for us this week, it's about going down there, doing a job and turning things around. The Storm are going to be up for this one I have no doubt. They have a bit of an injury crisis so do perhaps look a little shaky but they get Munster, Bromwich and Grant back against us to steady the ship so it's going to be a very tough game and a big challenge for us. Such is the quality of their side, I don't think there's any real key battle this week, we just have to be on all over the park or we'll get our pants pulled down again.

We all know what happened in Round 1 but it's time to dump that and just focus on this week. It needs to be a complete turnaround from last week if we are to get one over the Storm and I'm sure the boys know that. Just about every part of our game needs to be better but particularly our attack. We can't drop the kind of ball we did against the Broncos and expect to compete with the Storm so completions is a very big area of focus, as is sorting out our attack. Latrell returning is massive for us, absolutely huge so he'll help a lot but the guys around him need to step up too. Apparently the boys are filthy on themselves after the other night so I'm expecting a really fired up performance from us this week and I tell you what - it needs to be.

The odds are well and truly stacked against us but that's just the way we like it. If we get things right, we can defy those odds and I'll always back the boys to do so. It's going to take one hell of an effort and one hell of a turnaround but we can do it! I'm sick of these purple pricks constantly having the wood on us, let's finally go and beat them at home!! Blockbuster week and Thursday night can't come soon enough! Fire up everyone!!

big hit!

I'm thinking that Chee Kam should be in the 17 somewhere.

Unless Demetriou finds a spark this could be embarrassing. He has ex-halves as assitants yet the play is a shambles, and that includes several trials. Ilias seems as though he is lost, confused and unsure of his role. That's on Demetriou. And why is Karapani not in the frame? He looks very likely, a future star yet he does not even get mentioned. Chee-Kam would be a stop gap Demetriou needs to season Karapani asap take some licks and develop him because he has that star potential.

It was always going to be a rebuilding season so there's no point in focussing on early season form, we just need to enjoy the ride no matter what. ;)

My predicted line up for Round 2 against the Storm is,

1. Mitchell
2. Johnston
3. Paulo
4. Graham
5. Milne
6. Walker
7. Ilias
8. Tatola
9. Cook
10. Nicholls
11. Koloamatangi
12. Arrow
13. Murray (C)

14. Host
15. Havili
16. Burgess
17. Chee-Kam

Please keep in mind this isn't necessarily what I want to see, this is what I think we'll see. As much as I'd like him to be, Paulo won't be shifted just yet. JD will give him another chance to see how he goes with Latrell back. Hopefully if he continues to under-perform though, it won't be long before we see JD flick him. I just don't think that will happen this week.

I was always taught you dont weaken 2 positions trying to fix one, thats what we have done, put paulo back were he is use to playing and find a centre. Tass or karapani.

I think Tass is still not ready so it would likely have to be Karapani.
