The 'humbling' trait that sets Latrell apart: https://wwos.nine.com.au/nrl/2022-j...abbitohs/b8fb8565-e5b4-4b86-b6be-7d7626aecc38

Happy for Cookie to be rested tomorrow. Yes, he didn't play many minutes in Origin 3 but he has had a busy series and we need him fit, fresh and firing for the back end of the year. Good to see Jai backing up, that keeps our pack near full strength.

Backing the guys that are coming in to stand up and do a job against the Dogs!

The Sunday game makes it feel like it's been a long week but we have finally reached the day we all wait for, game day!!! Another super, super important game in the context of our Season tonight as we take on the Dogs in a big clash. They are a traditional rival of ours with a rivalry that stretches back well over 80 years now and in that time there's been so many chapters in history between our two clubs. Huge Regular Season games, Finals, Grand Finals, the rivalry has had it all. Not to mention, there's also plenty of feeling between the two clubs. It's no secret we don't like Canterbury Bankstown and I'm sure their fans will feel exactly the same about us. Should make for another juicy encounter tonight.

It's also a huge game in terms of making the Finals or not too. With the run we have coming up, this is one we should see as a must-win, no doubt about that.

I certainly don't think it's going to be easy. On paper, you'd probably look at it and think 'easy win' against the Bulldogs but I'm sure tonight will be anything but as it often is against these guys. Think about our games against them in recent times, when have we ever done it easy recently? The only one that springs to mind is the Good Friday game last year but that's about it. Aside from that, it's normally been a tough game and they've either given us a scare, made us work hard for the win, or beaten us. They always seem to lift playing us and always seem to drag us down into a tough contest. I'm expecting tonight to be no different. They've improved so much since we last met and they still have plenty of class in their line up when they get things right. Guys like Averillo, Addo-Carr and Burton in particular, as well as guys like Flanagan, Marshall-King and Josh Jackson. We need to shut them all down but particularly Burton, I think he's the key.

For us, we should go into this one with confidence. A great win last week and with a few troops back, we're able to field a much stronger team. Significantly, we're still missing a few of our best but that is no excuse. The guys coming in for them must step up and do the job, I'm backing them to do so. Really hoping we have turned a corner this year and tonight's game is about going out there and proving that. Get out there with a good attitude, play with passion and pride, no complacency, hold the ball, complete your sets, and defend well. If we can do that then we should be too good, but you just never know against the Dogs. We have not won three in a row yet this Season which is pretty crazy but there's no time like the present to do so!

Let's gooooooo!!!

Well here we go guys we’ve had to wait longer than we normally do but that’s right Game Day is here as we play the Dogs in the last game of the round! It’s certainly going to be a fierce tough battle it nearly always is against the Dogs big rivals we are and both teams go at it hard. The Dogs will come in as usual with that will to slow the play the ball down to a crawl and turn it into an ugly scrap. The Dogs have plenty of quality all over the park and since sacking Barrett they’re playing better. Averillo and Kiraz plus Addo in the backs are dangerous, Burton is killing it in the halves, JMK is in fine form and they have a pack of strong middles as well that love to offload. So yes we certainly can’t take them lightly. I’m sure we will get a few of those Burton bombs which are pretty much uncatchable.......

For us we will be without Murray and Cook but I have faith in the boys to do the job. We have AJ, Nicholls and Arrow coming back in which is good. For us we haven’t won 3 in a row at all yet this year. We really need to come out and do the basics right, completing at 80percent or higher, kicking to corners, showing good line speed in defence and discipline. We do this and match the Dogs in the middle it’ll give the opportunity for Trell and Cody to weave their magic. With how we are placed and our run to come I see this as a must win we just have to get it done. This is the start of the run home to the finals now where we have to fine tune our game every point scored and saved counts every little thing matters.

Now it’s not a home game tonight but let’s turn it into one lets make sure there is plenty of Red and Green out there tonight. I’ll be there with Dad cheering loudly. Lets make sure we outnumber these Dogs and urge the boys on and let them know we are right behind them on the run towards September!

FIRE UP ALL YOU RABBITOHS MEMBERS AND FANS EVERYONE ON YOUR FEET AT 6:13PM TONIGHT AS THE BOYS COME DOWN THE TUNNEL SHOWING THE COLOURS CLAPPING YOUR HANDS AND SCREAMING YOUR LUNGS OUT!! GLORY GLORY LETS GO AND GET THESE DOGS AND THESE 2 VITAL COMPETITION POINTS!!! LETS DO ALL WE CAN TO TRY GET THE BOYS AN EXTRA PENALTY OR SIX AGAIN AS WELL!!!

Yes it pretty cold but that won’t stop us in the stands!

SOUTH SYDNEY CLAP CLAP CLAP

SOUTH SYDNEY CLAP CLAP CLAP

SOUTH SYDNEY CLAP CLAP CLAP

LETS GO RABBITOHS!!

Our right edge is gonna give me a heart attack I swear!

Very tough game mate we knew it would be missing Cookie and Cam in the middle

Holy hecka that was crazy!!!! When Vaughan scored, I was freaking out, like, literally shaking. However, that last ten minutes from our boys was just insane! Magnificent Footy to save that game, come from behind and seal it! That was just insane for the heartrate, I think we all felt that. So stoked and relieved to get the win, that was a bloody important one.

Gotta say though, that right edge defence almost lost it for us. In fact, probably would have lost it for us had it not been for the brilliance of Trell and Cody. We do have some massive issues down there. Taane needs to go, and something needs to be done with Keaon. I'm not sure what but he needs a massive kick up the ass.

And I just wanna say what a freak Trell is, the best I've seen him play in a Souths jersey! That try was GI-like, seriously something out of this world!

On another note, credit where credit is due to the Dogs. They have come a long way under Mick Potter and really stood up today. They gave us one hell of a fight and we really had to work for it. I knew that would happen, it always seems to.

Just relieved and stoked to get the win. Well done lads!!

Isaiah Tass was very good, he is getting better as he racks up games. Conversely, Milne is terrible, I was hoping he'd be ok, but forget about it.
Latrell won the game for us, easily the man of the match
And to those that said we don’t need Cook that tonight in our loose middle showed exactly why we need him. Our attack clunky at times was also due to poor passes from Havili taking an age to get to the player. Cook can’t come back fast enough!

I think Jed will be right centre next week

I was literally shaking at the game that last 10mins I was so nervous and stressed it was heart attack material! It’s often like this when we play the Dogs I’m just relieved we won. That’s the best game of Tatola career 62mins 1 try 21 for 234 metres and 33 tackles best on ground for mine!

Was great to hear so many chanting South Sydney at the game too! I was right into it!
