I'm pretty sure that my dog's gay, so I'm safe.

I'm not sure that wearing a different jersey for 1 round out of about 30 is ramming shit down peoples' throats (though the analogy makes me chuckle). The whole team weren't forced into doing the promos. If they made the players marry each other and star in ads for the Mardi Gras, that would be oppressive.
No I kind of think it is, exactly that. It’s about them and their club taking a stand about inclusivity and the reality is not all of those guys want to do that. And that’s ok.

That doesn’t mean they are monsters, but why do we need to make footy political with this stuff. If players wanted to make a statement about inclusiveness than that’s awesome, but why can’t we just keep footy about footy and leave the other shit for other people to worry about.

I love my 80mins of escapism, or in our case as Parra supporters 80mins of sadness.

Each to their own. Corporate Australia has been championing this cause for years by having things like wear it to purple work days, IDAHOT days, decorating internal stairs and foyers with rainbow colours and balloons, making senior management and above go through unconscionable bias courses etc etc.
Even gay people I have worked with have felt uncomfortable about some of these things.
I remember sitting next to a gay bloke doing one of these courses and he was so shitty with the organisation he thought it was over the top and pathetic. Didn't bother me either way as I've treated people who they are and not any differently because of gender, religion etc
I didn't wear purple on occasions as i didn't have purple items of clothing and I wasn't going to purposely go buy something purple.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out but I reckon Moanly will buckle and wear their normal happy jerseys

They're professional athletes ffs. if they don't want to squeeze every last dollar out of the fans they should f**k off and play for the Berala Bears.
Hey Berala Bears is a proud club. Used to play at Guilfoyle oval at Regents Park.
Produced the Coggers and many years ago I was gathering the balls for Terry Matterson when he was practising kicking for goal. What a champion bloke. Memories

If everyone is equal why do we need these special days to celebrate/recognise people who are different sexualising ? 10yrs ago I'd understand but nowdays nearly everyone accepts people and whatever they do sexually.

Obviously half teh Manly players don't accept such things, which is kind of proof why we still need awarenes raising things like Pride round/jerseys.

Hey, if particular players don't want to do it, I don't care if they decline to do so. Nobody seems to be concerned about politics interfering with the game when it comes to women in league, or anti domestic violence stuff.

I have a couple of very close mates that are gay I clearly have no problem with it. But FFS can we stop trying to use sport to ram this shit down peoples throats?

Clearly Polynesian players possibly with their strong religious values could pose problems and thus cause segregation.

Can we not just enjoy our f**king footy free from agenda?!

Sport is the perfect vehicle to bring us all together. Those Manly players should be ashamed of themselves. Their major sponsor is a gambling company and the home ground is named after grog so it’s a bit late to get holier than thou IMO. This isn’t a crack at you either.
