My take on this is that it isn't the results of the next 3 games that is the determining factor, but rather the result over the course of the year and where our season ends.

Consistently achieving a top 6 position is great and it shows necessary consistency, however there is a point where improvement beyond finishing in the top 6 becomes the next desired goal and this is something we have been unable to achieve. Hence the next 3 games (i.e. making the prelim) determine whether we have gone up a level from "consistent top 6" and why I believe these results will determine the coaches future.
Final 4 KPI.

Well next month is moment of truth.

If BA gets us into a preliminary final pass mark.

A third Top 4 finish under BA ends with a straight sets exit questions have to be asked of the players and coaching staff.
To be honest, in the previous Top 4 finishes, I wasn't that confident that we really had that good a team against the rest of the competition that we would do anything in the Finals.

This year I feel different. We have a team capable of winning the comp compared to the rest of the competition. Anything less than a Preliminary Final would be a major failure from here.

There are some dangerous teams in that bottom half of the Top 8 though.

Yep I agree just be nice to get through next week without the added pressure of week 2 again.

And hope that Souths get knocked out in the first 2 weeks. Just need someone to do our dirty work so to speak.

Ideally Souths get knocked out next week and Roosters get done in Townsville or Sharks in week 2.

Which leads us to a prelim at Accor against either sharks or the haunted ghosts of the Cowboys and gee hasn't that worked well in the past. I reckon 2005 would be brought up 3000 times in the media if we hosted the cows in a prelim.

Still better then souths though just anyone but them.

it’s probably the first time I could recall where the bottom half of the 8 is more of a threat than the top half. I really can’t see sharks or cowboys winning it. I still consider the eels an outside chance. But roosters, south’s or melb could end up in the big dance.

I reckon this is the strongest top 8 in a long time

Melbourne, Roosters, Souths are all very capable of beating anyone in the top 4. Raiders could go ok on their day too.

Losing 2 finals games is highly possible

not sure we’ve lost two in a row all year. Would be utterly disappointing if that happened.

Our record against top four teams this year is 50%

Our record against the top eight is 55%

So basically a coin toss. If you flipped two coins and got tails both times you wouldn't think there's something wrong with the coin. It's just bad luck.
