Obviously financially it's not ideal but not having your licence can be tricky depending on work situation.

If it was Pensini, Simmonson or any of our guys on less then 300k I understand. There are guys he plays along earning 100k and put in the same effort.
But he is one of our highest paid players and one of our most experienced players so he falls into the leadership group.

So he is ok with his team mates earning 150k but he can't earn 646k for one year? Yeah he is sticking it to the NRL but who is winning and who is losing? Us fans are losing. NRL wouldn't give two shits. Does he think they cared?

Some people have to work for a month to make 4k. He is earning it in 2 days.

That's the thing Avenger. So many kids from battling families go to games. Tickets for a Father and son, a bite to eat, fuel and parking and I doubt there is much change from $100.
Considering many families are doing it tough that's a huge amount to many.

Not paying the fine is not "sticking it to the NRL" in any way shape or form - the NRL wouldn't care about $4K. They offer the option so that players who care about their team can take it and escape suspension.

Matterson has shown he doesn't put the team first, and as a result shouldn't be near our leadership group in the future.
