No doubt a broom needed through the playing and coaching ranks, however until there is a Board and hard arse CEO who collectively run the joint with a “we are here to win premierships” attitude, the broom will only brush over the problem.

As was once said a great man, “success starts at the front office”

Dragons front office come across as not really in it for the footy club.

From what I’ve seen the past 10 years, they’re a team of drunks off the field and they play like a team of drunks on the field. It all makes sense now.
Looks like all this is happening because they are really not commited to being a good team , for what ever reason ...... Just get up in the morning , go to work , no pressure , get paided , go home as long as they do that the bosses dont care , no pressure on them either ......

None of this type of behaviour can nor should it be blamed on the club but the club should be held accountable for not coming down harder on the offenders.
I understand nothing happening until after a trial.
Molo has pleaded guilty to DV so for me that’s enough for him to be sacked.
Hell the board even gave DeBelin a pay rise & extension while his case was still going.

Reminds me of me in my current job.

it’s so obvious that the only goal this team has is to be in the league and make their board members money. They do not strive for success like other teams such as Penriff, Melbourne, Easts etc. meanwhile us poor merkins buy memberships and supporter gear each year, hoping that there is some sort of plan going forward and that these piss poor signings each year are genius signings from coaches and administrators who we are all hoping know a shit load more than us supporters. I am the most negative bloke out there and for once I’d like to be pleasantly surprised

Pretty much sums it up. We'll know we've hit complete rock bottom when fans of other teams can't even be bothered kicking us any more.
From having years of experience of being in 'situations', when the calls become none stop for the Dragons to be based solely in the Gong, somewhere else, or kicked out, that's when you'll know you've hit rock bottom.

Probably for mine, the “be of good behaviour” message from club hierarchy just hasn’t sunk in.

I can cop the odd player in isolation being stupid, but this is multiple players running amok.

As for the nature of the charge, the panthers harboured that low gutted dog convicted sex offender for ages, desperately tried to ignore his arrogant grand final self serving victimhood public statement and the result was sponsors threatening to walk out, division on the board ( Brandy calling for his sacking) and the brain dead idiot Nathan Cleary describing him as his brother. Privileged punk. That was investigated and he was summoned and asked to explain and read the riot act ( slap on wrists!)

Im not lumping molo in with May, but to point out that there are ramifications of doing nothing. There is always Ill will and bad karma.JDB almost called a strike or something.

Players can then use it as an excuse for their own misbehaviour and all the rest.

It undermines discipline and harms the reputation of the club. He’s going to be set upon by fans etc.

It is a domestic violence offence, he admits to the charge. It’s quite serious.

If there’s a no tolerance offence, this is it.

We now have the potential to have 2 players stood down at the same time under the no fault rule....what is the common denominator in the latest 4 instances of player misbehaviour??

Disrespect for sgi would be one.

Lack of common sense would be another.

Complete failure to consider ramifications of their conduct in advance of the event.

Impulsivity and anti social values.

Molo's offences are not as serious to warrant a stand down policy. But then again it is Saints. They may bring in a rule this week to force him to be suspended.

Was Taylan May suspended? When? Has he served it? Oh, that's right, he was allowed to play in the finals and got injured and is serving it now that he is injured. Hmmm, if only other teams had that luxury. What Taylan did was disgusting and the victim looked like a teenage which was shown on TV for all to see.

Footballers have mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, grandparents, cousins, wags, wags relatives, personal friends, neighbours, many are parishioners with ministers, priests and congregational friends and despite all those close contacts somehow Hook is responsible for the actions in their private lives.

So Hook is not only supposed to be a footy coach but to be an all seeing eye into the lives of 30 players and have qualifications to be Moses enforcing the 10 commandments, father confessor, counsellor, psychologist, psychiatrist, behavioural expert, wet nurse, rehabilitation officer to blokes who can’t follow the simplest of instructions such as “no bbq”

Ask yourself this if your kid was playing sport and started playing up and getting into trouble would you be going down to the coaches house and wagging the finger at them and telling them it’s all their fault?

FMD there is more chance of the air in Wollongong being responsible for these issues than Hook.

Some people in this place are just bully boys trying to pile it all up on the coach as if it will help.

By all means criticise him for selections, style of play, poor results and things that he is supposed to be able to coach but spare me the ridiculous assumptions that he is somehow these morons best mate, mentor and life skills coach.

It’s a domestic violence offence. It’s quite serious as reflected in the penalty

83 people where murdered in domestic violence events last year, including one of our customers.

And we understand he was drinking.

Not a good mix, not something sgi should gloss over for the sake of staying competitive.

I’d be prouder of you if you axed him.

Your big sponsors don’t want a bar of him I think.

Very much so.

But arguing it happens elsewhere, doesn’t really excuse the sgi guys.

It doesn’t happen at all clubs.
There isn't a club that hasn't faced similar issues.

Just because it might not be happening today at a particular club doesnt mean to say it hasn't in the past or won't in the future.

If all that has been swept under the carpet and had brown paper bags thrown at it was revealed people would not be so surprised by the media reports.

The lack of true transparency unfortunately has created a false image of a sport that is full of role models and heroes.

100% agree, Tyrone should be banned from the sport full stop and the prosecution should have appealed Taylans miserable teddy bear sentence.

I’m not blaming Hook, he’s the coach -but the other supporting club cadre.

They just haven’t been effective in communicating the importance of good behaviour to players.

But no proper explanation was ever provided for Amone training away, happy and smiling when he’s facing 14 years. That was hopeless.

Recreational drugs are rife in the NRL everyone knows it. That’s all swept under the carpet.

Should be sacked immediately after the guilty plea. Disgraceful club.. why do we need to be FORCED to do the right thing every time?? From the De Belin situation, all the way to the Craig Young letterhead pedo character reference last year. Jesus christ. Tear up his contract
