Bull shit artist McLachlan is responding to the blanket media coverage given to league via the Dolphins, great games, great crowds, great tv ratings and big announcements (including potential massive fed government investment) made by V’landys this week.
It’s typical fumble ball paranoia and fear. V’landys hit them where it hurts with multiple expansion options and player recruitment options poor old Gil could only dream of.
At the moment he is making multiple visits to dear old Hobart trying to convince us to spend 100s of millions of dollars on a stadium we don’t need. V’landys is rubbing it in his face.

And yes he is afraid as the afl only has one market to play in, no expansion of any consequence to develop, no player pool to buy into and is surrounded by international codes who are not constrained by any of the above. That’s why the afl leadership lies and exaggerates,it’s why it hides scandals and it’s why it has no future and nowhere to go or grow. It’s an ugly outlier sport.

The danger isnt there at all. Its not like the AFL will just sit on its hands or anything. The great thing about the NRL finally getting a move on is that it forces the AFL to sit up and take notice.

Yes I would rather mclachlan take shots at the NRL like Vlandys does at the AFL, but we cant always get what we want.
