It was absolutely correct to have doubts on Edwards back in early 2019. He looked completely shot as a player. Dropping everything, low impact with the ball, zero confidence and good for an injury or two. Having faith in him at that stage would have been just that, faith.

Credit to him as it's as from that point it's been as sharp a turnaround as I can imagine seeing. He's an absolute gun on the field and all class off it. Typifies the soul of our club throughout this incredible period, dogged, hard working, team focused and tough as nails. Our goat fullback without a doubt for me and wouldn't be surprised to see him end his career as my all time favorite Panther.

It’s a shame Dylan is in this era where all the love is for Trell, Turbo, Tedesco, Paps and Walsh. This last three and a bit seasons he has been consistently better than all of them without exception. He’s never gonna get the love just the way it is.
Its very unfortunate for Dylan, but its an amazing thing for our club.

It will be interesting to see how his next negotiation goes. Teams like the Tigers and Dragons should legitimately offer him a million bucks.

According to news ltd, club is going to offer him a monster deal. ($1m) If true I think it's a smart move by the club, as he is the heart and soul of how we play the game.

Pretty much this. Good work ethic turned him from barely first grade standard into top 5 fullback. Credit to him but even brandy has said similar stuff about how he was a few years ago compared to now. It's not an insult to the guy.

Yeah, great player. He seems a bit awkward and aloof, like he doesn't quite fit into the clique at the club. But he just seems so willing as a player. He's the kind of guy you love to see doing well.

I feel the other way around. Looked like it took him a while to fit in.

Might be totally wrong though.

Amazing how far he has come from his horror start to a season a few years back.

In his first couple of games he showed a lot for determination and work ethic etc. Looked safe at the back / on the wing. But then injuries kind of messed his form cycle up until he just kept getting better and is now arguably the best all round fullback in the competition.

I mean he's not as good as Tedesco was at his peak. But I don't think Tedesco is near his peak anymore and Edwards is just a more reliable fullback.

His win record against "good" fullbacks is incredible too.

Edwards > Mitchell with a 6 out of 6 wins.
Edwards > Turbo with a 5 out of 5 wins.
Edwards > Teddy with 7 out of 8 wins.

18 wins from 19 games against the Origin beats at fullback for their clubs.

Gutherson is the only fullback with more than one win against Edwards at fullback too. Edwards has 5 wins to Guthersons 4.

Probably the biggest thing for me is he epitomises the success hard work can bring.

He is the perfect role model for kids coming through at panthers.

Not the most talented or athletically gifted bloke but the hardest trainer at the club who constantly puts in for the team. He is a the utmost professional on and off the field.

I suspect he will always have a future at the Panthers long after he retires.
