I'm going to say no to this one... unless you care to offer evidence of what you mean?
The government has an Indigenous Affairs department, who offer funded programs (approved through budgets, dating back to Howard's time) to organisations that meet the criteria to become providers of those programs. There would also be guidelines, agreements with KPIs and acquittal rules for those funded programs, which would mean companies don't get get money to do as they please.

This has been a monumental cock up from the Albo Government… and this is someone who leans slightly left of centre.
If the government had any common sense or political nous, they would have established a voice through legislation to demonstrate the makeup of it, how it operates, and the types of issues it provides advice on, proved there was value in it via tangible outcomes and highlight that there was minimal (if any) risk or consequences to having it. They could have then gone to a referendum to enshrine it in the constitution and they probably would have won in a landslide
As it currently stands, they’re asking for people to decide on a permanent change to something they have absolutely no idea how or what it looks like.
It has been absolute amateur hour. The fact it has been done this way leads me to believe it was more important politically for Albo to get this under his belt in his first term of government, rather than making any real change for our First Nations people.
We don’t need a referendum, we need an investigation into where the money is going and why it isn’t reaching where it needs to.
I know exactly what it’s about.
and it was going to achieve nothing
indigenous Australians already have proportionate representation across all levels of government
we need an investigation into where the money is going and why it isn’t reaching where it needs to.
The double question mark and use of "doesn't" as assumptive suggested you were already of the view that it does.Evidence to a question?
I could google it but we all know you need 50 different sources on here before anyone accepts it. (Yes that's a dig at you and the sky news)
The very small minority of First Nations people intending to vote No can of course have opinions, and might have better reasons that others...Yeah ok but the first nations people voting No got scared into it hey? They don't have an opinion apparently![]()
During this saga the person that most impressed me was Jacinta Price. I reckon she could do a better job than the current PM or Dutton.Love this one I saw today - time to get on the right side of history tomorrow:

My mention of evidence to contrary was an admission I'm not 100% sure of my response, and open to sourced evidence otherwise.
Re Sky News... do you serious think they aren't essentially party political in their coverage of national issues?
The very small minority of First Nations people intending to vote No can of course have opinions, and might have better reasons that others...
e.g. a belief that this proposal does not go far enough, after being sick of getting dicked around by (most) Governments since Howard's time.
Having constitutional recognition and a Voice advisory committee will allow for this diversity of Indigenous opinions to be heard during their deliberations to give advice to government on the relevant matters - that's kind of the whole point (and why I think it's dumb for anyone to intend to vote no).
The one bit I don't think you've captured above about the timing and process for this is... that Albo listened to the broadest representation of Indigenous people (through the Uluru Voice from the Heart process) about how they wanted to go about achieving constitutional recognition and a Voice advisory committee. This has been a monumental cock up from the Albo Government… and this is coming from someone who leans slightly left of centre.

20% (vs 80%) is a pretty small minority, in any voting scenario.Small minority? Someone has been drinking the coolaideSounding too much like Pou Pou here buddy...
She has handled herself incredibly well. Definitely better than Dutton, better than Lydia Thorpe, and (sadly, because she could have been such an asset to Yes) better than Linda Burney.During this saga the person that most impressed me was Jacinta Price. She has a bright future.
I’m just weighing up as to whether to take the kids to the Sydney pro Gaza protest on the weekend.
I see it as an educational exercise and I want them to take an interest in world affairs.
We went to the Samoan riots at Mt Druitt last World Cup. They enjoyed the chaos and we did several rat runs through the flares and stuff.
I took one kid, then the other got jealous and he had to come too.
