Brisbane Tigers make their bid to be 18th team

two's enough

Broncos say

This is just a bullshit opinion you've plucked out of your arse.

If it held any truth then the Dolphins wouldn't be in the NRL because they're a competitor to the Broncos. The fact the Dolphins are in the NRL proves the Broncos don't have the final say anymore. News Ltd lost the deciding say when they relinquished their 50% stake in the NRL.

Broncos losing their stars to dolphins is the final nail in the easts bid.

Another bullshit opinion based on nothing.

Broncos lost plenty of players to other clubs over the years. If they wanted to keep Farnsworth and Flegler then they would have matched the offer from the Dolphins. They decided to shed both players to free up money for players they view as more important.

The Storm hurt the Broncos more than any other club by poaching juniors from SEQ over the last 25 years. If teams were added to Adelaide and Perth then you can bet your arse they will target SEQ. Using your logic, Broncos won't want teams from Adelaide and Perth.

So you want Brisbane to have the same problems as Sydney with small crowds and unviable clubs until the games money was diverted to propping them up? Righto

It's not even remotely the same. The Broncos and Dolphins are the two richest rugby league clubs in the world. Arguing that a third Brisbane team will make the Broncos and Dolphins destitute is so dumb and delusional it's laughable. You're just clutching at straws because you know that Perth's path to having an NRL team has been dealt a serious blow by the Dolphins' success and Aus Gov's support for PNG.

and they cut the Crushers (brisbane 2) which you keep forgetting, over and over and over when even you bring up the Reds being cut.
That decision led to the Broncos' crowds dropping below 20k. Broncos crowds were up around 35k this year. An increase on 2022. News Ltd have learnt from their mistake.

Plus the fallout from super league

lots of super league clubs felt a big crowd drop off coming back into one comp as I think fans weren’t happy about making peace

camberra especially with the brumbies and we seem to have got most of them back now

Great news for the brisbane tigers bid
If the Brisbane Tigers were to buy out Balmain's share then the club would be in a very strong position. Six games in Brisbane and six in Campbelltown would be a good split. It's just a matter of what they call themselves.

The Magpies?

The Tigers?

Having access to pathways from southern Brisbane and Western Sydney would make them strong.

No idea

I’m so thick it took me a minute to work out it was qrl and not nswrl teams

those jerseys are a thing of beauty though

my knowledge of the brl is limited to what I’ve read in books like the kings and maybe meninga
Easts Tigers beat Wests Panthers in the 1991 BRL GF. Paul Green was Easts halfback and John Lang was their coach. Shane Richardson was with the Tigers at the time.

In 1992 Adrian Lam was with the Wests Panthers. They beat Easts in the BRL GF. I think they won the QRL 7's that year, too. Richardson, Lang and Green moved to Cronulla in 1993. I think Green won the Rothman's Medal.

Lang was set to become the Cowboys' coach. Unfortunately, Cronulla offered him a deal just a few weeks before the Cowboys were able to provide a formal offer.

I read in the The Daily Bogroll the Wests Tigers review may result in Shane Richardson going power there. How long before some sort of partnership is proposed btw them and East's Tigers?
