Playing the Broncos and Storm is a unique experience referee wise. It feels like you are playing against News Limited as well as a rugby league team. I don't even get that feel playing a prime Roosters or Penrith team.

Im not sure about that and I’d have to check the stats.

But our momentum was cruelled by that forward pass.

We managed to unplug some of their hero’s which was pretty good for essentially, a second string side.

They put on a lot of cheap shots out there. I didn’t think it helped them. They copped some bad injuries, folk on report. Expensive. But I’m obviously more worried about our guys.

Now we’ve got some kicking issues I’m worried about.

I would have loved us to have kept that momentum going through all that possession.

What im sad about is all the hard work and effort they have put in and they are 1 game in points away from Parra who have been aids . At least at this point our f&a is far better then years gone by
Yep! I fear two things about them despite the obvious improvement.

1. Frailty in patches: We can still have very soft patches in matches which lead to very soft tries.

2. The lack of a "B" game: The intensity in our games has been very up in every game this season. The good and some mid-range teams can win a game of footy when playing their "B" game. We are nowhere near there......that takes time and being very good to do that.

I do think we are still on the up in terms of overall improvement. But, as I said earlier, we are deluded if we think we will make the eight this season.

Sucks to lose by 22 points, as many people have mentioned it was really only a 10 minute lapse where we conceded 3 tries (some dubious at that)

now the cream is starting to rise to the crop, if we want to stay with the pack, we need to get back in the winners circle and it starts with Newcastle next week. With Luai, Skelton and Finau back I’ll back us.

I missed the second half and just watched the replay, we were fairly scrappy, but no excuses, they gave us a footy lesson.
Latu off with a HIA, he's had a few them now, hasn't he?
Maybe we missed Luai more than some thought, we could ask the pennies what they think as well. Though we will never know.
Next week.

Yes, our depth is showing how light it is.
Twal going backwards gain, as well, imo.
Still, we will come together eventually, maybe not completely this year, but if they can keep the squad together, get some stability, then I believe it will happen.

I really liked that press conference. Broncos are a top team.

He didn't mention the referring and I think he should have. We were screwed on one try and they were given one try. Maybe we don't win the game despite those decisions but they definitely impacted the scoreboard.

I agree with Benji, it's not a good look to start whingeing when you've lost by a big score.
I'd rather this than have someone like Stuart at the Raiders crying every time they lose.

We lost by a big score but geez we copped it. The thing is we were right in that game as well and we made a comeback.

I think there is so much to like about our team.

Next week we play the Knights at their home and that is another tough game but every game is tough. We really need to start turning it on with the ball and we have the players to do it.

Agree, it's strange we are playing the knights so quickly again, but it will give us an idea of where we are at. Hopefully everyone is fit.

We need all 3 Fainu's out there. Ideally we get Skelton back as well. I'm not sure what we do with Luke L. I rate the guy but he came in at the wrong time at one point. I think it was when they scored off that forward pass. I also think Doueihi was great out there. So I suppose Luke L should go back to reserves and learn his trade.

Benji also needs to work out what he does with Luai, Galvin and Latu. Luai hasn't been good enough for us so far. I think Latu is better than Galvin. To be fair I don't think this decision makes a huge difference to the team because they are all pretty close in relation to what they offer us.

As a team we also need to be extremely disciplined. I think this is the biggest issue. We have to start executing perfectly. Twal for instance was great last night but he dropped that ball at a critical moment.

The scoreboard flatters the Broncos. A silly mindfart cost Hunt's try. Cobbo's pass try assist a mile forward and if we kicked all the goals.
Injuries hurt us and suspensions too.
It wasn't a thrashing.

Well, Luai is the first one picked.
I don't think we would have won last knight with him there, but I think the score would have been a bit closer.
Latu is not better than Galvin, if he was, they wouldn't be hell bent on offering Gal a sizeable increase in his salary, and besides he hasn't played enough FG to make that comparison.
I don't think Latu will be available anyway, don't you have to have a compulsory week or two away from the game after a HIA?

Steady as she goes with Latu, he played well against a marquee side.

I think JL would have been a good calming influence on the side, but if we keep missing the boat, something has to give to get Latu, Galvin and JL into the side at once.

Maybe against a less dominant side.

I’m pretty sure Benji is of the same mind, but he maybe he will wait for the inevitable injury to AD, who is still quite ginger.

It might be time to bring technology in to determine forward passss leading to tries. They are important events in the game as much as anything else.

It cuts both ways. I saw Rhys Weser throw an inside pass at speed once which the refs called back, but it was just a good sleight of hand pass.

And in my view, the bigger picture and ultimate explanation for us losing the momentum was lack of possession in the second half with many factors contributing.

But had we continued to hold the ball and been more focused in driving them back, we could have jagged it.

Which should be a source of comfort, despite an upsetting loss in some ways.

There was a good spell there where we dominated and they didn’t have any effective answers.

Teenage halves against reps and kangaroos …incredible performances.
