FMD you are a bs artist

All week you’ve been saying the nrl should accept the deal as it’s worth 55 million or so

There was no offer of 120 million
They had $50mill from the bid on the table and the WA govt has offered $55mill plus stadium benefits plus Ken allen field temp facilities. Keep up!

They didn’t have 50 million from the Cummins bid originally did they

You’ve been blaming everyone for this falling over rather then the wa govt and the afl

Pick one of those

The deal was done and was to be announced and the arl had the rug pulled from them with zero warning

Ultimately Pvl has to make a choice as to what’s best for rugby league

This bid is a poor one now but it does help the tv deal

So it’s a coin toss imo

If they want to put a weak bid in the nrl then so be it if it fails then the blame will lie with the wa govt for not supporting it

The fact they are seemingly ok to walk away from $120mill investment in the game in WA should tell you how much they care about expanding the game across Australia.

you know that the WA Govt misses out on something too right … an NRL team in their state …You are making out like the NRL is the only loser …

the $55 million dollars on offer NOW is the issue … if there was a $120m there now they would take it .

That seems to be incorrect since half of that money is from private investors, and they ruled out accepting private investment. They only want taxpayer dollars.

Can you elaborate on where it’s from and when it was offered ? I was under the impression Cumins money was about $20m

where did I say 'originally'? But yes they did eventually have $50mill on the table from the bid.
Plus the money from Govt = around $120mill in RL investment in the West, they seemingly are comfortable walking away from and leaving the game in WA with nothing. Suggests they arent that interested in the game here.

Im purely interested in it through the lens of whats best for Rugby League in WA. I dont care what the Govt misses out on , or even the missed opportunity for NRL to get some more $'s out of tv. This for me has always been about how do we grow the game here. One eyed maybe but we all have our motivations.

And you, nor I, have any idea what the NRl wants. Is it $120mill? is it $320mill is it $500mill, we've seen all sorts of numbers thrown around

But you are putting all the blame for it not getting done solely onto one party … Im sure there is blame to go around for both sides … it’s obvious why they rejected the earlier deal … they thought they could get more…. Some are saying they were offered more by Cook and he reneged

They are walking away from 50 million

They had an agreement for up to 500 million til the govt lied

Id take his $30mill for club set up but ask for a further $25mill for grassroots or elite development guaranteed. Add that to the $35mil from Govt and NRLWA is set for a very bright future and amazing growth in WA.

And then they added the licence fee and cash for bank guarantees. Who cares what their first offer was. If they make a better offer, the first one is irrelevant.
