And yet the club and playing group never turned on him publicly and froze him out of the squad. All parties did what needed to be done to get the best out of the departing player up until the end of his contract.

We have enough experience across the field..

We need to bring in 2 gun forward juniors. Preferably impact guys. A prop amd a 2nd rower.

The next kikau and try find the next haas etc..kids in the 17 to 19yo bracket that will be fg ready in 18 to 24 months.

We don't need any more plodders and i dont think we have the coin for any established guys that will actually add something of value immediately

Only thinking about a 2025 signing. In the TPJ mould.

With martin being a 80min guy and papali able to play lomg mins on an edge we really need a good impact guy on the bench in both the prop and 2nd row roles.

Henry and smith are both the future and big mins guys so again i think another impact guy to go with patea is a must.

Id rather pay 250/300k to get a gun 17/18 junior then pay the same to get a has been guy thats just collecting a pay check.

Im not convinced this year is a write off..i think we can turn it around but the club must forward plan.

I think weve always been at our best with recruitment when we find those one or two jems to bring into the system at the right time. Kiks was the perfect example..the club didnt have anyone like him in the juniors so went out and got what was lacking.

Really need the club to fight off rah rah and lock in lemoto.

Leota is in the back end of his career. And our pack really lacks impact and x factor. We need a few young guys that offer that.

I think we have enough depth in the backs to be excited about. Alamonti and tago at their best a good nrl centres. Casey is going to be a great player. Jesse should be a good nrl player. Brian is still young. Theres decent back ups in the lower grades coming through for dyl.

Cole and blaize are both promising etc.

Just need to sort out the forwards. We dont have any guys capable of getting offloads at will or busting their nose through the line.

The club need to lock him up.. within reason.. like im saying id much rather offer him 250k then joe who is done..

He will no doubt secure huge offers from french rugby tho so may be a hard task.

Still, would love to see the club offer him a 4 year contract for 250k.. next two years nrl development then last two in the nrl squad.

We don't want Marto playing 80. Two 20min stints where he tries to kill the opposition every play would be far more beneficial during the regular season.

All I know is the French rugby is interested on him and are willing to a pretty penny for him too

We have Lemoto, Armstrong and Clarke all coming through the system right now. Massive wraps on Armstrong from what I have seen, same as Clarke. Both are 18/19, but if you are good enough you are old enough.

Not sure on the Front row stocks, maybe a bargain buy will tie us over until Patea is ready.

Will Patea ever be good enough? We all know Ivan has his favs but to continually picking Huth over him is pretty telling.
