An interesting "Coming soon" page displaying on NRLBears.com

Is that going to be the official page? PerthBears.com.au is also showing a placeholder..

You'll need something blue for the origin!!!
How quick could they rustle up some Perth Bears hats for the dolphins game? Surely a few thousand wouldn't be that difficult
If somebody doesn’t russle up some Perth Bears caps, I’ll have to wear my Blatchys Blues wig.
'IF' the colours have to be this (ie: white, not gold), the first three of these jerseys I do like. The shorts, I like, but not the pointed chevrons going down the side. The logo I do not want for Perth Bears, but good job on it anyway. I keep saying this: this new club HAS to be treated, acknowledged as a brand new club. Not a continuation of North Sydney. They still exist in the NSW Cup and lower grades.

Hence, also, why later on, in Perth's future, heritage kits can be a Western Reds or a North Sydney Bears style kit ... but for the first few years, Perth Bears have no history in which to look back upon for a heritage kit.

But, I do like the first three jerseys here. They are unique enough to stand out, are a style that won't date, and are visually appealing enough to appeal to the average punter in WA to want one and show support, even if they only go to one or two games a year. The N.Sydney red and black hoops kit, to me, I find to be too bland and unexciting.
I’m seeing a lot of Bears fans saying no yellow/gold, I’m thinking why not ?.
There are so many jersey options these days that I think it is inevitable yellow/gold will be featured on atleast one bit of apparel.
Here are the various jersey options available atm:
1). home jersey (WA fans),
2). away jersey (NSB fans),
3). heritage jersey,
4). Anzac jersey,
5). Indigenous jersey,
6). Women in league jersey ?.
The Knights even release an Anzac jersey paying tribute to their original representative team colours (pictured).
These were the colours of the Newcastle representative team up until 1987.
The Knights entered in 1988.
The Knights also have their Coal jersey which makes them look similar to the Wests Tigers.
Start saving those pennies up Bears fans, there is going to be so many NRL merchandise options available.

Knights also, in 2008, has a red and white hooped 'Where's Wally' style jersey for one game, in reference to the original Newcastle Rebels team (1908-1909).

But to your point, yeah, just because North Sydney people don't want gold, that's not a reason for Perth to not have gold. I've made my point before that this is a new club. A WA club. We will be grateful to what the North Sydney club can provide the Perth club, and having the red and black colours and 'Bears' name, plus the partnering up with North Sydney formally should be, for most, a happy occasion to see those colours and mascot back in the NRL. An updated (or even a new) logo and jersey and an addition of another colour to distinguish the two clubs should be a minimum requirement.

They can for sure incorporate yellow for special jerseys, indigenous, heritage, Anzac etc. without having it in their home and away jerseys. Every NSW club doesn’t need to have blue, every QLD team doesn’t need to have maroon, and every WA teem doesn’t need to have gold. I’ll steal a line I saw on Instagram, “The Swans didn’t add sky blue when they moved to Sydney”

If the Dolphins hadn’t chosen gold as their trim colour I’d be a bit more in favour of using it for the Bears, but having the 2 newest teams with the exact same colourway would be a bit weird

2 kit set concepts. I can see how the S.L. design would rub a lot of people the wrong way, with Super League being the demise of both the Bears and the Reds. But it’s also a great looking design, and would kind of be picking up where the Reds left off with the S.L. Jersey being the last one they woreView attachment 101997

And for this one I thought (however unlikely it would be to pull off) that leaning into yellow/gold by their choice of sponsors, they could appease both of the old fanbases by featuring some yellow for the Reds but also still technically being true to the Bears colourwayView attachment 101996
No yellow collar?

Personally, I'm not choosing gold just because it's a WA club. I'm choosing gold as :

a) white with the Norths' black and red is still a continuation of Norths from the 1990s, when they last appeared in the NRL.

b) I feel gold complements red and black very nicely, moreso than other colours, and having a lighter colour in the official colour palette, from a marketing perspective, is greatly beneficial. Red and black and both darker colours. Gold provides that contrast.

I think white looks much better with red and black than gold does. Regardless of keeping the tradition of the Bears colourway, I like the aesthetics of black red and white.

And I think that’s one of the selling points for the team, that they’re bringing back the strong brand and identity of the Bears.

But has to be only red and black even though we’re not north Sydney?
Doesn’t have to be, but the Bears in red black and white is a classic Australian sport identity, and part of the reason they won the bid. I won’t be at all upset if they do go with yellow, I just like the look of white with red and black much better and think it would be great to see that classic identity back in the comp

Great attitude to have. Gold or no gold, it does't matter.

Also, Daniel Dickson has gone on record saying they don't want anything resembling another Northern Eagles, which the ARLC agrees with.

To elaborate, the Northern Eagles may not have had the Bear mascot, but the blueprint didn't look too bad with three of the Bears' colours making up four. That fourth (maroon) was injected so heavily that it looked nothing like what the more flexible supporters initially hoped for. Then by 2002 they phased out red and black altogether and replaced them with Manly's lesser-used navy before they took the license.

Yes, WA league supporters can empathise with the plight of not having a first-grade Rugby League team since the late 90s, but they can't sympathise with entering into a partnership and watching the other side completely stomp out their side of the representation.

So you'll have to forgive the NS side if they're a little steadfast on not diluting the club's identity by adding a fourth colour, especially when the concession this time is to all but give up their home in exchange for keeping their identity.

And ns fans will have to forgive the fact WA Rl fans want the NEW club to represent WA and not look like NS with a Perth name slapped on the NS badge And kit.
there will need to be compromise on both sides if the club is to maximise fan buy in.

Whole point of the existing brand is to not drastically change it.

Therefore, it won’t be drastically changed. Updated and modernised sure. But that’s the extent of it.

Not sure anyone has seriously suggested a ‘drastic’ change. Though that word is subjective I suppose.
