Who in their right mind is seriously going to want to go live in a compound in PNG? They’ll have to pay 2 million a year for a player like Chad Townsend to even consider it

I'm guessing a few players who will take 2 year contracts at tax free money. Some may take longer contracts but I'd say the 2 year option will be the most favoured.
They then can come back with a pile of cash in hand and go on their merry way.

There'll be incentives galore for players to go play for Perth and PNG so they're not just cannon fodder. Gonna be hard for teams like us/manly/newcastle to compete with this in getting players so we (the club) have to make sure we do everything in our control to keep being competitive.

I didn’t realise they were going to live in a compound. I thought the idea was to base the team in Cairns and fly in and out for games.

The only assistance the Perth Bears should get is realistic turnarounds from each game because of the logistics. Even Clubs playing there should be given the longest turnaround from games that given week.

Which had me wondering how they could offer tax free.
Surely being based in Cairns and flying out for games makes you an Australian resident for tax purposes.

It's definitely compound bound in PNG.
Cairns was floated about as an idea once but nothing came of it.

My opinion - Katoa is better than Stonestreet and will be for another 5 years…
Katoa is great at finding the line and way better coming off his own tryline…

Who are Parramatta going to drop for Stonestreet? Lomax or The Fox? Can only see this happening if they plan to ditch PenisEye or Russell (which is on the cards) and move Lomax in one.

Not me and that goes for Berrell, Tuks, Eli Clark, Dykes and Hiroti as well. Small wage fellas but replaceable in reggies by up and comers. At min wage there's $600k to be used on an upgrade. Plus Atko money. Plus the cap goes up by $150k each year till 2027.

I wouldn’t be shattered but I want to keep Berrell and Hiroti for depth. Till we have a better replacement hooker atleast
