Hmm you know what, I don’t know about that. It touched his own body and then went back. Why does it have to be a deliberate action to kick it?
They changed it after Billy Slater dropped one cold and happened to unintentionally kick it and scored.

Who came up with that rule? Deadset.
First time I even knew it was a rule was when the Raiders challenged a knock on by Seb Kris that hit his body and bounced back.

Bunker said “Seb Kris pulls the ball forward into his own body. This constitutes a knock on.”

Guess it actually is a rule, but man it makes absolutely no sense.

Yeah but there was a big diff between that and fumbling it in the air then ultimately knocking it back. Just another case of the NRL writing a rule without any understanding of their own game tbh

Yeah but that one went forward after hitting the leg. I don’t get why it’s not ok to go backward. It never hit the ground or an opposition player.

Anyway it’s all academic because it’s clearly the rule, but just like the rule where if you fall over after playing the ball it’s a changeover, I just don’t understand why.
