On the comment earlier about Souths being lucky to win games despite not scoring more tries than the opposition this year (can't remember who said it and can't be f**ked going back to find it), I'll say this: Wayne Bennett brought former Socceroos coach Graeme Arnold in for preseason mentoring of our goal kickers and it is paying dividends so far. Therefore, it isn't just luck.

It doesn't matter if you don't score any tries and only win by kicking goals. Points are points, whoever has the most at fulltime wins, it's really that simple.

Last word on this: If you want to talk about luck, then how about those drop outs! Latrell missed the mark both times but slicing under the ball at least gets it to bounce upfield. But both took a magic bounce which you couldn't possibly replicate. The bounce of the ball will go against us on another day but it bounced super kindly for us last night. Can't deny luck played a pretty big role too.
