Ben Hunt was an unnecessary signing. Personally I think he’s been pretty average and hasn’t done anymore than what Walters could’ve done while they wait for Mam’s suspension to end.

Our back row is an issue, I see the potential in Piakuru but how much longer do you wait? I’m Riki’s biggest critic, outside of kick chase, what does he offer? He doesn’t run great lines, rarely breaks a tackle and he’s not a work horse. Hetherington isn’t a starter either but I don’t mind him off the bench. I think we’ve got one of the worst back rows in the comp.

I don’t live in QLD anymore so I’m not up to date on the Hostplus Cup, how does Mozer, Black, Te Kura look?

I hate using this word but whenever we come up against an aggressive forward pack, we get rolled and almost look soft.

Walsh is a concern, he hasn’t played a decent game of footy since the panthers game last year after the head clash.

Is our depth so poor that McGuire doesn’t start his best forward pack because there’s 0 impact if he does? Wouldn’t Haas, Walters, Willison or Jensen, Riki, Piakura, Carrigan be our best available?

Broncos certainly have funny standards. Taupau faces the potential sack, for liking a Facebook post written by an old teammate. Meanwhile Mam walks straight back in.

Oh, absolutely. Amazing how clubs talk about driving standards and then when it comes down to it, all is forgiven and forgotten for players with talent.

But the best part is, he has to front the leadership group of, Reynolds, Carrigan, Haas, Staggs & Hunt.
Reynolds had issues with Carrigan, Carrigan had issues with Reynolds, Haas had some demons, Staggs had Issues with everyone, Hunt (newbie).
Fancy being judged by those clowns.

Seems Broncos recruitment people are at it again. They have almost no forward depth signed for next season and they sign two wingers in Anderson and Karapani. Maybe they plan to use them in the second row?

Bronks were ordinary against Parra last night. Maguire and crew in the coaches box got a bit excited, prematurely. They are a long way off being a premiership contender. Reynolds and Hunt both looked old and bereft of ideas, whilst Walsh, Mam & Staggs are so over paid and over rated.

Usual stuff, why is Ben Hunt at 9, should be just sticking with Walters. I doubt we'll go anywhere in the finals, you never know though with the teams in the top 4 (except Melbourne) aren't all that convincing either.

In a squad of 30, they have 5 hookers. Walters, Hunt, Paix, Smoothey & Mozer. None of whom are better then average. Recruitment at its best. I do believe Hunt is the best option, maybe even a better option at half then Reynolds.

The old Flat Trackers were good at bullying an undermanned Souths last week. Not real good against a bit better opposition.

Week 1 : Ben Hunt slays the demons of 2015 with the winning Field Goal.

Week 3 : Reynolds lands the conversion from out wide to put to bed 2021.

GF : Walsh makes the tackle to win the premiership, after the missed tackle of 2023 makes all the highlights reels.

What a finals series man. Premiers 2025!!!

That tackle should’ve been celebrated like Sattler’s 2003 effort, the fact that it didn’t is a testament to the type of game Walshy had because of all the other amazing shit he did that blurs one’s memory. Also like to call out his coolness and growing maturity for blocking the outside noise (admittedly most of it of his own making) and remaining cool and composed at the business end of the season. Congratulations to the second half kings and congratulations on an epic win. Enjoy the off season.

On another note. I remember when we got the spoon, I was talking to an older colleague at my previous job. I said a spoon can derail some clubs for 10 years. But we will be back in half that.
By 2022 we were already showing signs of being on the up bar a late season fade out. 23 we were back faster then unanticipated but fell short on the big day. 24 we regressed.
But low and behold, 25, 5 years later. As predicted. Top of the podium. Premiers.

Also, Shout out to the random dude who got a tattoo years ago of 'Brisbane Broncos Premiers 202', and left the last bit blank. He can finish it now. Risk v reward on that one, sigh of relief I am sure.

Congrats from an old dragons man, this premiership was a monumental effort and all glory to your boys. Reece Walsh played the best gf I have seen from one single player ever.
