His form is way down and has been for 12 months but I still hold out some hope for Penisini (though he is doing his best to whittle it away….)

he is still young, and it’s not uncommon to see an outside back come into grade young and hit the ground running and then plateau/drop off after a couple of seasons. Usually comes about through poor training attitudes and becoming complacent - which BA clearly fostered towards the end of his tenure. I’ll give him another off-season under Ryles who has shown he won’t accept that shit and then make a final call on him.

Will Penisni is the epitome of our whole team. Shows promise but ends up being overhyped, gets exposed, disappoints you to the point where you couldn’t give a f**k anymore.
The circle of shit, the life of an Eels fan.

Still can't believe some turkeys were talking up Penisini as an origin change a year or two ago. Solid first grader at best... nothing more. And if he doesn't cut the errors out of his game he won't even be that.

When Penisini takes up his player option for 2026, we should immediately offer him a two-year deal for less than his current money for 2027-28... to teach him he has to improve and play out of his skin in what's left in 2025 and 2026 to be a chance of getting decent future coin.

Actually, he's an overall solid first grader because of the errors. If he cut out the errors, he would easily play Origin. As it is, he is definitely a solid first grader and there is little chance "he won't even be that" before he gets too old for the NRL. Yes he is making a lot of errors, but Gagai and Ramien are worse, and they are both still playing NRL. It's not like there is Will Penisini and 33 Herbie Farnworths.

Just in case you didn't clock it, we're talking about decline from what he has produced in the past. If he continues in this vein with the errors, he'll get demoted to Cup e.g. for Simonssen - and Penisini won't even be solidly in first grade.

Perhaps playing a pure power game for far too long , stuffed up any creativity in the backs. Saw more potential is style last night, but we just don’t have the players to execute it. Told we have a more than decent amount of cap space to spend, now it’s up to the gurus in recruitment to show me how wrong I have been in critiquing them .

Hope they move far quicker than we have seen in their tenure.
Hope they're quicker than Penisini.
