It is a really bizarre case all round. I’m not a big fan of him, he is a stubborn prick to his own detriment as we currently see with Jackson Hastings saga, and it feels like he has been under pressure for his job for years on end

The weird part for me in it all, is that despite always being under pressure and about to be sacked, he has an 80% success record of making the finals in 4 out of 5 campaigns, which is far better than plenty of other coaches out there.

It's only been a few years since the Warriors fans would be keen to sign him. Sacked from another club, we'd look at his record, look at our own dire coach, look at who else is in the market, and go 'yes!'

The whole charade is bizarre, everyone knows he was signed sealed and delivered to the Roosters months ago. There were reports 3-4 weeks ago that he had told the Dolphins he would be staying in NSW

Nah there's probably a list at the Broncos who can like a social media post, or in fact take a dump in the middle of Suncorp mid game, and those who can't. He's definitely the former.

You can tell a lot about an attitude from a long range try, we just saw Liddell running in quicksand trying to get to the line, and 10m behind him Mariner is jogging back on the chase, he is meant to be one of the quickest around

Old news now but...saw the highlights of this game for the first time last night and just catching up on this thread now, and not sure about this...Liddell may be the fastest hooker I've ever seen (alongside his teammate funnily enough). Has scored multiple long range tries and I've rarely seen anyone make up much ground on him. I don't think Mariner was ever in the picture really.

Yeah he is sharp off the mark, he looked completely gassed in this run though and Mam was comfortably reeling him in, imo Mariner should have been putting in the big ones just in case Mam managed to hold him up enough

I cbf finding it at the moment but Liddell scored a 90m try for the Tigers some years ago which had some of the worst commentary I've ever heard, basically the commentator spent the whole run wondering who was coming up in support until Liddell got about 2m from the try line and then he was like "oh right he's gonna score". I think he catches people out.
