That was an absolutely awful set up from the Tigers for that winning goal

Feel for the Titans, she didn’t do them any favours, that play the ball penalty on RCG was awful, and the miss of the Luai knock on before the Titans one she found was extremely ordinary

It feels like the refs are having end of season kpi reviews this week. Atkins just pulled the roll ball card in the Warriors game.

I’ll put a line through 11th and below on the ladder for playing finals football

Halasima having a huge impact on the ladder, his runs v Tigers and Knights are currently the difference between 4th and 5th spot

To be fair, that was a shocking and obviously poor play the ball by Dallin, who had an all-time stinker of a game. Couldn't catch, overran TT's pass in the corner, gave away that turnover, can't defend, there's not enough to keep him in first grade other than 'oh the alternative is Edward Kosi'

Is it time we slightly tweak the challenge system, to nominating a specific part of the play you’re challenging, or just that just create more trouble if something is obvious but they can’t call it ?

That debacle at the end of the game today highlights it, the Warriors challenged for contact on the kicker, but won the challenge in a completely different area than they asked for

Someone posted in the match day thread on the main forum that it says in the rules you can't challenge for not square at marker.

EDIT: Apparently it's an old rule.

I'm not sure I agree that you should have to nominate, because a major issue with golden point and field goals is that the markers are nearly always offside, and if the other side has a challenge this might encourage them to not be. But I definitely hear you on that.

I don't think we deserved it but Hastings, by the law, only charged that because he wasn't in a legal position at marker.

So we might have stolen one big time.

As I said in the game thread, am happy that play didn’t decide the outcome of the game at all, I thought it was fairly ordinary, because one of my pet hates is the defender getting up, and the player with the ball standing up and taking a step sideways or forwards, and I felt that’s what happened in that play the ball to make Hastings not square

But it probably did decide the outcome, right? Because if we don't get that penalty, the Knights have 90 seconds to slow it down, kick down field and make us probably have to score with 1-2 plays max.

I felt like Hastings was never square but I didn't look at it in any great depth.

I'm home and trying to take it all in. It's beautifully overwhelming.

The Warriors that is. My workmates were under strict instructions not to tell me the score. They'd played ball, which is fine. But what I really meant was 'don't tell me the result unless the Warriors won'. That doesn't work though because, if they're silent, then I presume they've lost. So, to them, it was like I was going home to watch it from scratch.

I hate the tension coming home and looking at the result. As it was I was saved by a workmate. She left twenty minutes before me and had crossed out the Knights on the lunchroom tipping board. What a feeling.

And my Tigers workmate came in to return a key and was on a big high. It's was an hour into the Warriors game but he didn't say anything.

It's on everywhere, top, bottom and middle. What a fascinating run ahead.

Corrected: That's a nice, and crucial, four-point buffer we have. Thank you, Leka!

Might need to grab that ladder from nrl.com again, as it's now got us correctly at 30 points :D
Great, I thought so! It didn't look right from the start. If we were only on 28 points then we were in serious trouble, not just from Brisbane but from 3-4 teams below us. Thank you, Leka!
