We'll get f**k all and it's the same as it was under previous admins. I don't blame the Tigers but it's the way the game works.

I can't see why we can't get both. To me it's a completely different topic to Galvin though.
That's right and it will be around 150k but it's better than nothing.
I agree that we could sign both. I think we need another bookend end too.

This pisses me off. The only way Galvin has derailed our season is by playing like shit. It's one person rather than the whole team and that is a piss weak excuse for why we have struggled the last couple of weeks.
Anasta’s comments re the Galvin saga are glaringly agenda driven. The only reason he is supporting us instead of customarily bagging us is he & the grub Isaac Moses are mortal enemies

$165k transfer to be saved this season and save $350k next year, better than nothing I guess, at leat we have Latu to come in.

I was expecting more than that, surely the threat of earning $350,000 instead of a million should get us more then that?

This whole Galvin thing with the bullying and legal rubbish and everything about this early season contract talks has really made me feel ill.
When are the NRL going to step in and protect it's product. This reflects poorly on them too.
The NRL just sit in the corner and hope it will all go away.....well that's how it looks to me anyway.
What happened to the day when men played tough on the field and showed loyalty and acted like a man off the field.
Galvin, and particular his manager, are self entitled, egotistical, thoughtless, insensitive, ungrateful and detached from the fans.
Galvin hasn't done enough to say sorry to us, his fans. We are the one who, indirectly pay his wages, because without us there wouldn't be professional sport. So why are you cutting off your nose to spite your face LG.
Your living in a dream and I hope for your sake you wake up one day.

I was expecting $500k or somewhere around that mark. And if we didn't get it he can sit and sulk in reggies.

Let him sue us for bullying. It's hardly an open and shut case. It wouldn't have even made it to court until later next year anyway. And Galvin would have to pay his own lawyers to run it. They would not come cheap and would eat up a lot of the playing money he's made so far. I reckon if we called his bluff he would have folded like an origami pterydactyl.

There is a formula that I believe the NRL has come up with and 150k is what was talked about amongst the journos last night. The price doesn't really reflect potential as such.
I think Galvin can damage our club far worst than 165k if he stays any longer so to me it's like a double edge sort. A bit like damned if you do and damned if you don't.

At this stage, I'm happy to trust that Richo knows what he's doing.
And I'm now just keen to see what Latu can do for us.
The $165k and next years $350k, gives us a reasonable player and we still are waiting for his list of new signings expected out very shortly, you would think that they were made with the knowledge Galvin won't be here.

I’m quite sure that the 165k can not be included in our cap.It will be used for expenses outside of the salary cap

It's useless. It does nothing for our cap or our squad. We go backwards for nothing.

To be extremely clear we can't do shit. It's just a f**ked up situation. I blame Galvin. Moses is a turd but I assume Galvin could easily tell him to do a deal or just let it go until his contract is over or whatever. It's just like Tedesco or Moses or Woods before him.

Yes and no. I don't think he is the messiah. I feel this is as exactly the same as when Pascoe was in charge and it wasn't his fault and it's not Richo's fault now. It's a shithouse system.
I think I prefer Richo to Pascoe purely because of their demeanour.
Also, the big man seems to know so many people in the rugby league community and has a reputation of getting what he wants.
He has had success at rebuilding at least 3 other clubs and if you go back and look, those clubs needed time.
Just like Ciraldo and Gus. When those two started with the Dogs rebuild, it looked a shambles at the start, and I thought, maybe these reputations were shite....but look at them now.
However, I hope Richo learns from the Galvin debacle as it could have been handled better.

Yeah it's just hard to take because we've lost again

What can we learn out of this for the future?

1. Richo - Don't be making any definitive statements to the fans you might not be able to live up to. When you're writing a press release use words like 'at this stage' and 'may' or 'might.' It covers your arse if you change your mind later, and you don't have idiots in the media throwing your words back at you and making you look like an idiot.

2. Benji - If there is a similar issue in the future with any player, immediately instruct the team not to post a single thing about it on social media or like any comment or comment on anything to anyone. If Taruva hadn't posted what he did, we'd have been in a lot stronger position.

3. Don't invite Satan into your life. If we already don't have this policy in place we should cut ties with everyone outside of 1st grade who is managed by him, and not enter into negotiations with anyone he represents. Our first question to any current or future prospect or juniors is to ask who their manager is, and if it's Satan, it's no.

4. Fans - In times of any sort of player contract strife, just expect the club will be bent over and screwed royally.

I think No4 is a little unfair, I would suggest it was a business decision in the end.
What do we gain by keeping him?
